Would Father Anderson from Hellsing count as a Villain?

It depends which side of the sword you're on. Anderson is my hero. <3

I nominate Arlong from One Piece as Best Villian.

If so I have seven nominations.

Integra is the best for being the best portrayed female in any anime that has ever existed. Those vapid subservient boob-things wear thin after awhile. Major Motoko Kusanagi follows behind Integra in a great show of strength and independence, but loses points for being scantily clad all the time.

Also, for all the anime/manga (and there are a lot) that make it a plot point of a character being a virgin, Hellsing does it the best. Not that I'm saying that should be a nomination category, but it's interesting to ruminate on. Usually when an anime or manga goes out of it's way to mention a character being chaste, it's usually one of those harem shows.

Of course, that leads to the immortal speculation topic: has Alucard ever gotten laid?

Just think about that for a moment while we get back to the nominating.

As for best villain, I nominate Vicious. I mean, look at his name? How could you not nominate this guy...

I was watching the sub...and...it really took me half a second to figure out she wasn't just a highly effeminate guy (they pull that type of thing in anime). It was probably the whole "sir" instead of dame thing.

edit: If this incorporated manga too, then I could post these.

Yes, heinkel and yumiko < *

It's long, I know, I know. But I had to get the new version of my nominations out to you guys. Anyway, I have to agree with whatyou guys are saying about Integra and the Major. That's why I like those characters and they shows so much because you don't really see too many strong female characters in any type of animation today and its nice to see. Same as Kagome.

And remember, the nominations and nominees have to be from this year... as in 2005.
Peace.
Ano Hito 09-30-2005 04:35 PM
Well, since this would be the "first" at least in this forum I think it would be fair to allow all nominations.

Also, we should probably make a large all-inclusive list just so that we can stare at everything at once.
Nine Kuze 10-03-2005 01:57 PM
Thanks for replying, Ano Hito, and thanks for the suggestions. Really means a lot.

When you said this...
quote:
Well, since this would be the "first" at least in this forum I think it would be fair to allow all nominations.

Does that mean you like that all the nominations not to be restricted to just this year but for all animes. It's not a bad idea but I really like the notion that we keep the nominations to just this year because it gives anime shows like Ghost In The Shell:SAC, FullMetal Alchemist, and Samurai Champloo a somewaht time to shine without older anime that we haven't seen in a long time crowding up everything. And besides, it kind of gives this a kind of Oscars, Emmys feel to it. That's just what I think. But if you guys feel that way too, then by all means, we can change it.

Damn, you're good Ano Hito! That's a very good idea and I've actually been keeping track and looking at everybody's nominations to see who will make the final cut. I'll see and try to make an ultimate list but if anybody else can make a list like that, I'll really appricate it.

Don't forget to post your nominations.
Peace.
Nine Kuze 10-19-2005 02:02 PM
Don't Call It A Comeback...

Hey, I know I haven't been here for a minute but I was working on that large nominations list that Ano Hito greatly thought up of on Microsoft Visual Basic.Net, but I have no idea how to get it on the forums here so I just gonna type of all the nominations that we have so far. I also want to thank those of you that have already posted your nominations and have helped me make this go forward. Check it out...

You guys can still nominate new nominees or second the ones that have already been nominated. This is just to show how the Anime Awards look that this current time. Keep checking here to see any changes, as that is bound, and hopefully, to happen. Also, for the Best Characters and the Best Theme Song categories, please don't forget to mention the anime that your nominee is representing. As you can see, this as already happened and I just wanted to mention that so it doesn't happen again.

Peace.

Ano Hito 10-20-2005 08:46 PM
Wow, thanks for the list

As for some entries missing information, the opening theme of outlaw star is "Through the Night" and Roronoa Zoro is from One Piece.
Nine Kuze 10-22-2005 01:02 PM
Thanks, Ano Hito and I made the corrections to those. Since Neon Genesis Evangelion is now out on the air this year, I nominated the show for a couple of categories in the AAA's

I nominated Neon Genesis Evangelion for:
Best Anime Series
Best Action: For An Anime Series
Best Animation
Best Visual Effects

If you have more nominations for N.G.E. or any other anime, then post 'em.
Peace.
Nine Kuze 10-28-2005 12:44 PM
You know as I endlessly wait for someone to post up new nominations for the AAA's, I was thinking of a new nomination as well.

I was thinking about 'Best Thread', nominating the best threads from this year in the Paradigm-City Forums. This kind of has already been done before but I was thinking that I'd add it to the list, making it 20 categories.

What do you guys think about this? Respond back if you want a Best Thread Category or not. Thanks.

Also, referring back to an old post a while ago, although it looks like Father Anderson from Hellsing looks a villian, I think that he much like Schwartwold except a little bit too much on the religious and a little bit more manicial.

Make sure to nominate or denominate for the AAA's. Thanks again.
Peace.
Nine Kuze 10-31-2005 07:18 PM
Just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be starting the Official Academy Anime Awards on November 18th. This is where you can start voting on the final nominees for the category that they are nominated for.

Peace.
Krang 11-16-2005 11:38 PM
Ok, here is the ballot form containing the final nominees for the Academy Anime Awards: http://www.paradigm-city.com/misc/aaa/

As Nine XXVI mentioned above, the voting does not actually start until Friday, but feel free to take a look at the categories until then.
R.Rocky Horror 11-17-2005 09:35 PM
I'll still vote on this thing but, I still think that "Yugi-Oh" would not be overlooked, being as next year it won't be elligable.

Not to mention Dartz was a pretty good villain.
Nine Kuze 02-21-2006 03:11 PM
Just wanted to let everyone know that I'll start announcing the winners of the 1st Annual Academy Anime Awards this Friday. So stay tune and check it out!
Peace.
