Why the eyepatch?!

Norman wears the eyepatch because it's cooler to look like General Chang than the Warden of Rura Pente.

Why?

My own theory is that Norman is a former Navy SEAL and he lost his eye while carrying a 120 mm tank cannon when he was fighting commies in Papua New Guinea back in THE DAY. That or he is a former pirate. Either way Norman KICKS A**! The machine gun he whips out in Act 8 should tell you that. I mean Rambo would be jealous of that gun.

He keeps forgetting to take it off after his live-action role-playing gatherings with the rest of the pirates.

Although I have no idea why he wears the eypatch, I don't think he would look nearly as cool without it. Maybe he just wears it because he looks good with an eyepatch.

(Norman walks through the door.)
Norman: Eh? What's this? (scans) They - want to know why I wear an eyepatch... Do I wear an eyepatch? (touches eyepatch) Oh, so I do! Hmm, I don't believe I DO know why... (opens eyepatch, "feels" around under it) My goodness, I suppose THAT'S the reason then, I don't seem to have an eye there! Sorry about the inconvinience...

Roger: NORMAN! Stop talking to the computer screen, dang it!

Norman: Yes of course, Master Roger sir...

(Norman tiptoes away suspiciously.)

Mattartist: At least thats what I think anyway. Seems a bit dumb to wear an eyepatch just for the heck of it, at least I think so...
