Maybe I'm reading too much into this... but...(Spoilers)

Sorry if this has been brought up before, but something struck me odd the last time I watched Act 15 "Negotiation with the Dead".
SPOILERS AHEAD! SPOILERS AHEAD! SPOILERS AHEAD!
At the end of that episode, Roscoe Fitzgerald is killed by Alan Gabriel. Fitzgerald was the middle name of former president John Kennedy. John Kennedy was killed in the same way that Roscoe Fitzgerald was- a bullet to the head. Maybe I'm just going insane, but I though it was a little coincidental... maybe more than a little. Whether it has anything to do whatsoever with the plot, I'll leave that up to you folks. Have fun!

I doubt it.

Tons of people have been shot in the head, and even if his last name was a reference to JFK, it really would be more of an easter egg than anything important.

Big O has several scenes that make me think of Camelot. At one point, Angel is dressed like Jackie Kennedy. And then there's "Skippy's" funeral in Winter Night Phantom. The little boy salutes the coffin just like John John at JFK's funeral.

Whoa, then Alan Gabriel must be the lone gunman! Woot!

Yeah, that IS a cool coincidence...
Also, in Act 6 (Legacy of Amadeus), Amadeus was the middle name of Mozart the composer! Nope, you ain't goin' insane! (at least not because of your evidence... Big Grin Sorry.) There must be something the writers are doing, throwing middle names of important people into the show, like JFK and Mozart...

Man, that IS cool! Big Grin

The series is rife with allusions to other works and pop culture.

Angel isn't dressed so much as Jackie Kennedy as more a typical 60's lady. Stylewise the 50's and 60's have never really died for the Japanese. If they were making a direct Jackie reference Angel would have been wearing a pillbox hat. And her catsuits are a straight Avengers/007 lift.

The Mozart references are a bit deeper than that. For one his wife's name was Constanze.

Good point- I never thought about that scene in Act 10. It adds another such dimension to the whole JFK thing. Then again, all of this is mere speculation. I only brought it up so that I could see what other people thought about it, or whether anyone else had caught it.

Most of the technology and fashion in the show is set in the late Fifties and early Sixties. Roger's car is an oversized '59 Cadillac, for example. So it's not surprising that some of the better visuals from the period got recycled in the show.

So Alan Gabriel killed John F. Kennedy! It all makes sense now!

Lol! Oswald? Pshaw- it was Alan Gabriel. It's a shame I didn't think of this back when I was studying JFK in American History. The look of utter confusion on my teachers face would be priceless.

ehhh... I don't know. I really doubt that Japanese writers are digging so deep to draw connections to American Presidents. You never know though!
