Escaflowne the Movie on Cartoon Network (2005-08-04 15:40:46)
Escaflowne: The Movie will be shown at 12:00 midnight on September 10th as a special on Cartoon Network. |
This is especially good news to me, because I've been meaning to see this movie. If it's anything along the lines of the manga (I'm assuming better) then it will definetely be worth it.

I remember when the series was on Fox. Good times. I really digged the mecha designs.

As far as I know it's just the movie. The manga isn't bad but the TV series is much better. oh and Allen owns and Gaddes is rockin too.

Hahah yeah its a alright movie personally I did not favor the dub so well but its a nice put together movie a bit different then the series, but its nice.
At least Cartoon Network hopefully won't over edit the movie when Fox got the series eariler they pratcially ruined it!

The movie is an interesting take on Escaflowne, though I don't know whether or not it's along the lines of the manga (never read it). Where the TV series is very much Western high-fantasy, the movie has a more Eastern feel to it. There's less high-magic present so the "technology" level is lower, but it's still a lot of fun.
I'll have to remember the day and time it's on. When I got the chance to watch it back in Freshman year, we had to stop part-way through because of circumstances beyond our control, so I've never actually finished watching it.

The Manga is roughly nothing like the Anime or Movie. The Manga was based losely off of the Anime. There were also two versions of the Manga, only one made it out over here.
