Episode 9 Discussion: "Beatbox Bandits"

We still plan on having these discussion topics whether or not anyone wants to use them. Wink I know that this show is not as philosophical as something like Big O, but we think it's fun to watch, so feel free to comment...or not...

Episode 9 in about 10 minutes.

it's so amusing how Fuu keeps wondering aloud about the terrible things that could have happened to Mugen....

and i thought that's what was growing in that field!

HAHA! Brilliant episode! I loved the whole flash back set up for the episode, it just seemed to fit pretty well. I liked the premise of the episode as well, though I knew that Mugen would never get back in time. Fuu's comments to Jin about Mugen were pretty funny though. The ending was priceless. That was some pretty strong stuff they were growing, as Mugen's fight scene was easily the most insane thing I have seen all week. The wierd homosexual undertones of the party at the camp were a little odd though. All in all, it was a very funny episode, even though I thought it was going to be serious at first.

I loved this episode, the part where Mugen gets high is the best! Laughing

It was funny to see Fuu talking to Jin, and all Jin would say is "Hmm". Tongue

I'm really enjoying this anime, and Big Grin I've watched up to episode 15 already. Embarrassed Sweatdrop

My friend has read a couple books about Samurais during that time and it's not that odd. That's one thing my friend really finds interesting about this series. How they are making some parts of the show historically accurate. I haven't read the book she is talking about yet.

Anyway, another great episode. I find it funny that they got SO high SO quickly. Mighty strong stuff there then.

I'd have to agree there.

This was a good episode....I also liked the flash back set up too....I was actually surprised that they left the drug references in. They have come a long way from changing Jet's shirt to a peace sign in CB to having almost a full Samurai Champloo episode with a field of marijuana and a more then a few drug references.

That jogging guy was also funny.....

One thing I like about this show is that each episode has a unique spin - whether it's connected to some historical event or told through the eyes of someone else decades later - and yet the shows still progress chronologically.

Mugen's just hilarious - the act first think second mentality is unique. I can't think of any male anime characters who have so priceless a combination of impulsiveness and disregard for authority (and can back it up).

The jogging guy reminded me of a village charcter in one of the N64 Zelda games.
