Cowboy Bebop coming back on AS

nathjan 07-07-2005 11:48 AM
Starting July 11th, Cowboy Bebop will be back on Adult Swim at 1:30 AM taking over GitS:SAC timeslot. So if you've missed some episodes, haven't seen the series, or just want to see it again since you dont have the DVD's. Heres your chance.

...it was off the air? I really didn't notice, they rerun it so many damn times.

Air the movie already Cartoon Network!
IanC 07-07-2005 12:00 PM
It will still be the overedited verson anyway Wink
Mr. Fortnight 07-07-2005 01:21 PM
Dangit. I haven't even seen Ghost in the Shell:SAC entirely yet... I don't think Cowboy Bebop deserves yet ANOTHER run. I'm sick of it. Let some of the new stuff get a chance.
Wingnut 07-07-2005 06:31 PM
Really, besides I don't care how many fluid moves Spike has, the Major could kick his ass in hand-to-hand combat any day of the week.
BabyGhia 07-07-2005 06:41 PM
Cowboy Bebop hasn't even been off the air that long either. Jeez. I love the series and would like to own it on DVD one day but, honestly, it needs a bit of a rest.

Oh well. At least we know AS is dedicated to one show. Tongue

"I love a woman who can kick my ass." I'M SORRY I JUST HAD TO SAY IT, hey it was too perfect to pass up.... Maybe I should do a picture edit of that Tongue ......

But seriously.....CB has out lived Tenchi and OLS (The other anime that AS first ran) You would think that if they would replay it this many times they would play it unedited.....But they won't they'll just play it in a costant loop, in it's current state of super-edited-glory-ness until people will get tired of it like Inuyasha.....
Schoolie 07-07-2005 08:50 PM
I never thought about the edit-factor. For anyone who has seen the DVD's, what type of stuff is edited out? It seems like they keep quite a bit of the blood and violence in it.

It was mostly edited for blood...let's just say that Black Dog Serenade had the most blood edits in it (That's the only type of edits it had!) There are other random blood edits, but they mostly go unnoticed, you can say that Vicious, spurting wounds, pools of blood, and dead bodies were to blame for those....Then there was the language and nudity edits (When I say 'nudity' I mean Gren, Faye, and Nudie Magazines/pictures....But Gren mostly.)

No....Black Dog Serenade had the most edits....I mean take a look!

quote:
From the Edit list, ANN

Black Dog Serenade

1) Blood digitally removed from pile of guard's bodies.

2) Puddle of blood digitally removed when Udai pours out the champagne.

3) Scene of dead guard with a mouth full of champagne cut.

4) Spout of blood digitally removed when Udai slashes con's throat.

5) Quantity of floating blood drops greatly reduced.

6) Blood digitally removed from pilot and copilot's bodies.

7) Blood and bullet holes digitally removed from pilot con's body.

8 ) Spout of blood digitally removed when Udai was shot.

9) Blood around Udai's head digitally reduced.

10) Puddle of blood under pistol Jet grabs removed.

------------------------------------------

Pierrot Le Fou:

1) Scene of Pierrot's assassination of the ISSP director shortened.

2) Quantity of blood at ISSP director's assassination scene digitally reduced.

3) Blood removed from prison walls, guards' bodies and Pierrot during Pierrot's escape.

4) Spray of blood from Spike's gunshot wound digitally reduced.

Looking back at those and then remembering the HUGE pool they left in, in the Hellhounds for Hire part 2 episode of Samurai Champloo....it seems that over the years they've let up on blood edits some. (But there's always the 'Scar + Exploding head/Gluttony's arm = Edit' that for some reason doesn't go with the current trend of letting all/some of the blood get through...)

Well, actually, that's what I've done. I taped the whole series. I can watch it whenever I want to. I did that with a bunch of series on AS.

Heh. Maybe they are hoping to promote Cowboy Bebop Remix during this time. Although it doesn't come out until September.

I have all the CB DVD's so there isn't really any reason to watch them. I will miss GiTS though. I am just glad it isn't being replaced by one of those sh** animes they play like Lupin the 3rd, Wolfs Rain, Trigun, S-cry-ed (Why oh why is this still on?), Pilot Candidate, Reign, or even FLCL.
Chaoz 07-14-2005 08:04 PM
Why do they show it so late?

Why not SAturdays at 12:00 move Inuyasha in Futurama's place?

Not again. I love BeBop. But I've seen it a billion times now.
R.Smith 07-14-2005 10:33 PM
I have to admit, I didn't really pay much attention to it being back on. Oh Well

But last night while I was having trouble sleeping, I caught the 3rd Session, and I remembered how much I LOVE Bebop. Pleased Pleased

AS really needs to show the movie one of these days.

*must resist urge to go full CB theme* Wink ....... *fails* Tongue

It's suposed to be on sometime in September....they're probaly editing it as we speak! Let's just hope it isn't SUPER edited like the series was....I mean it shouldn't since AS has lightened up their editing some since when CB did it's first run back in 2001. But you never know....
