I saw this film the other day.



Its the true story of growing up in the worst parts of Rio de Janeiro, and the way it affected their lives.

In a way its part gangster story part documentary...

I really don't want to spoil it, but if most of it IS true, then Rio is one brutal place.

This is probably the greatest movie ever made in my opinion. The characters, the setting, the plot - everything is brilliant.

Who was your favorite character in it?

I was told I HAVE to see this. I never saw a trailer or anything, but I'll give it a shot. It is out on DVD already, right?

Yes, it's been out. Go purchase a copy as soon as possible. You'll be proud of yourself for doing so.

Favorite character?

Benny, he was just too cool and easy going.

And the main character for just kind of going living through this whole thing.

Well, I'll be damned - yet another movie thread that catches my eye . I really want to see this, especially after reading "Child of Darkness" a few years ago. Places like that make the shantytowns around Kingston look like the Ritz Carlton .
