Big-O materials (Paul's theory).

This a short theory I wrote on what materials could be used to build a Big-O megadeus. Keep in mind this is just a theory and I could be completely wrong.

Internal Structure:
It is very likely that the internal structure is made of some sort of amorphous metal alloy. Amorphous alloys are metal alloys that have no crystal structure and their particles are scattered randomly instead of an ordinary pattern. This lack of crystal structure makes them several times stronger then normal. Many amorphous metals are more then twice as strong as titanium, which is the strongest pure metal in existence. They are also very lightweight so they would allow Big-O to move around easier. They are generally a very shiny silver color so they would match the color of the structure and arm pistons.

Armor:
The armor is probably made of titanium. Amorphous alloys are probably too expensive to use on armor because the armor gets damaged often and is frequently replaced. Titanium is already naturally black so it would match Big-O’s color without having to be painted. Titanium also forms a thin but tough protective layer of titanium oxide when it is exposed to the oxygen in the air. When this protective coating is scratched, more titanium is exposed to the air, which makes the coating self-healing.

Orange Glass Stuff:
I really don’t know what to make of it. I think it might colored glass, some sort of crystal, or a form of polycarbonate. It may be possible that it’s just colored glass, but glass is probably not strong enough. I’ve never seen polycarbonate shatter like it did in Act 26, so that’s also questionable. If it’s some sort of crystal then it has to be very durable and easy to shape. It might be something similar to quartz, but quartz is rather heavy and I’m not quite sure if it comes in orange.

Tell me what you think. If anyone has any idea what the orange glassy stuff might be then feel free to post it here.

I like your assessment there Paul. It would make sense to have amorphous alloys make up the internal skeleton making it stronger. However, in regards to Titanium, you left out one important detail. Titanium is also super lightweight and super strong. That's why they use Titanium on Submarines because of its lightweight, strength, and also ability to withstand tremendous amounts of pressure. Therefore, Titanium could also be used on the internal skeleton of a Megadeus and the robot would still have good manueverability. I do agree with you that it would be best suited as the outside armor because of the tremendous beating a Megadeus takes.
