OH CRAP!!!
Cartoon Network has reached a new level of awesomeness. I knew DBZ was more mature uncut, but TV-PG? I never knew it was cut up that much. So far it's way better than I expected. A few things caught my attention:
-Episode 1: "The Arrival of Raditz" takes up 3 episodes in the uncut version. (The scene on the Island is the whole second episode)
-Blood violence. OH YEAH!
-90% of the dialogue sounds different from what I remember. Believe it or not, the story sounds a lot better now. I guess they translated it word-for-word this time around.
-Did I mention the wonderful violence?
-Master Roshi is more perverted than ever
-I don't think I brought this up, but there is now blood voilence
It's on Cartoon Network at 10:30 PM EST On weekdays. If your a DBZ fan, trust me when I say it is worth seeing the rerun episodes once more.

Yeah, I knew about this a loooong time ago, when I met with the President of Funimation and a few VA's that do a lot of Funi work. Really nice guys, got a few free DVD's and one signed by a VA.
Heh, I was "in" on it.
Only thing I wish they would have done was gotten the guy who did Vegeta's voice originally, he was badass.

(but the plan was to redubb it all so it'd be constant with the rest of the show, so....... that's not gonna happen)

Nope, it's pretty much the same as the old edited script. Mistakes are still in it (Raditz saying Vegeta was destroyed three years ago) but it the script in'st as annoying as the usual DBZ dub, and the voices (for the most part) sound a little better.
Nice to see their airing it completely uncut. I didn't think they could do it, but last night..
They proved me wrong.

The only thing I have noticed so far is that they left in Goku's wang and Roshi tried to grab Bulma's breasts. Of course, its been quite a few years since I saw the original episodes with Raditz. Whenever they replayed them back in the day I somehow managed to miss them everytime.
I am somawhat pleased since I used to love this show. Plus I am glad they are going back to the old episodes since everything after the Cell Saga is unwatchable.

I'm gonna miss Pioneer's erie sounding music from the orginial Dub.
Their music was so old school!

I'm sad that I missed the first two episodes, but I'll definitely be watching tonight. I always loved DBZ, no matter how stupid it was. I can't wait to see the blood!
Wait...does it have the original music too?! If it did, that would kick so much ass....

The theme song is different. Other than that I'm not sure.

If you've ever seen Dragonball, is the music similar to that? And are there actual periods of silence?
I doubt it's the original music since Funimation is only trying to make these earlier episodes match up with the later ones.

As a DBZ fan, I must say I'm rather pleased to see it uncut (manga still better though), but I do miss the theme song "Rock The Dragon" from the old dub.

hmm CN actually airring something uncut, well that's a surprise but really DBZ is far from being edgie or super violent, it rather tame actually but it's a nice step towards uncut anime on CN.

Wow, I hated that show ever since I stopped watching it in 6th grade. Blood violence makes everything extensively awesome, so I might start watching DBZ again. Maybe CN should try it with more horrible shows like Pokeman and Batman Begins, or better yet, that ass show, Code Lyoko.
That show is so stupid!

Tonight's episode was pretty good. I had no idea how long the Raditz fight was. The battle with Vegeta is going to PWN.

They still didn't show what exactly Piccalo did to Raditz at the end of the fight to kill him. You see him raising his arm up and then Raditz is dead in the next shot.

I noticed that.
I've also noticed, they're still afraid to mention hell. If they call it "Home For Infinate Losers" again, I'm going to be pissed.

Maybe it was always like that in the anime *SHOCK*

Well excuse me for not being a DBZ expert. I would have figured they'd make it a bit more obvious so the scene wouldn't look so awkward.

Nothing was cut. That's how the scene is in the original.
You know, watching these episodes make me remeber how much I
loved the Saiya-jin saga. I think I'm a bit tempted to buy the DVDs. I can't wait to see Lunch again. (most underrated character, EVER)

Did they show the energy bulging through Goku's back, and then shooting through?
If no, then its still cut..... a bit.
To check and see if things are still chopped up, go to
DBZ Uncensored (I love that site, shame he
stopped updating in 2001
).
