Sorry about the short period of downtime, but we're back online again with yet another new host (making this server move #7). There were some aspects about the last host that weren't really working out, so I went ahead and moved the site to a more permanent and reliable location. Everything on the site should already be working, but if you notice any errors, please
let me know.

Ah, good to be back, despite the short leave only
I just got a question though. Did anyone else have trouble with the Neo-Speakeasy? It would not load for me. I figure it might have just been trouble with some internet thing. (Yeah, I ain't the most computer savy...) But I just wanted to make sure that it was/was not just me.

The Neo-Speakeasy wasn't up for some reason....and it still isn't up. I'm planning on asking Zola about this as soon as I get the chance.
In the mean time me and Wienberg have made preparations elsewhere in case of other PCF downtimes while the Neo-Speakeasy (on Zola's server) is offline.
Krang, expect a PM from me tonight

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the Neo-Speakeasy not working but I think it might.
I was on the paradigm-city forums on May 25 somewhere around 9:00 p.m. and when I refreshed the page, it said "page cannot be displayed". I then went over to savebigo.com and it also said "page cannot be displayed". I went over to the Neo-Speakeasy and it also said "page cannot be displayed". The chances of all three sites going down at the same time is very small. At first I thought it was something wrong with my computer, but everything was fine. They all came back online in the afternoon the next day.
Is there anything that Paradigm-city.com, The Neo-Speakeasy, and Savebigo.com have in common that would cause all of them to shut down at the same time? Do they all share the same host or server or something?

Zola's server had a major systems crash. In fact, it had two. One during that downtime before the move, and then another just before the move.

As Wienberg noted, Zola's hosting service for SaveBigO and ZolaWeb (the Neo Speakeasy's parent site, for those unaware) suffered a severe machine failure. From what Zola told me, they managed to restore the server once only to have it crash again a short while later. Now it will have to be completely replaced, which was postponed in observance of the Memorial Day holiday and will most likely take a few more days.
In any event, it's pleasant to see the transfer of Paradigm went smoothly. Thanks Krang!

Sorry about that, I should have checked whether or not the Neo-Speakeasy was working before I linked to it. I noticed that it was down as well, but I was just about ready to bring the site back online at that time. Evan has provided me with links to some backups for the Neo-Speakeasy, so we'll use one of those in case this happens again.

The Neo-Speakeasy and SBO are hosted on the same server (run by "Web750" I think), but Paradigm is hosted on a different one. The fact that they were both down at the same time was a coincidence, since our old host was having power problems at the time. We're now on a new server that should be even faster and more reliable than before (and the fact that it was below 0.25 server load with 50 people on the forums makes me like it better already!

).

The Neo-speakeasy is now back online, savebigo should be online soon. As Weinberg has said, the server both sites were hosted on had a major hardware fault. It was back for a short while, and apart from a couple of corrupted files it seemed okay. It then broke down even more.
Both sites have been moved onto a different server, hence the long time taken to get them back online. Zola and myself have been rebuilding the sites and ensuring they are okay. Some posts have been lost due to the crash, but we are putting some systems and procedures into place to ensure that, should this ever happen again, the damage will be substantially less and recovery quicker.
Sorry for the delay, memorial day for you, spring bank holiday for me. Murphy certainly had a field day this time

It's great to have Paradigm-City back in action. Kudos to Krang, Shredder and the staff for getting it back online as fast as they did.
