Appleseed and Samurai Champloo coming out for Sony's new handheld system. Modogo.com reports Geneon Entertainment will release Appleseed and Samurai Champloo on UMD for the Sony PSP. Both of these titles will be released on July 5 in North America. Samurai Champloo will be released in the UMD movie format at the price tag of $14.98 (as opposed to its $23 DVD MSRP), while the Appleseed UMD will run a little cheaper than its DVD counterpart, priced at $19.95. Neither of the UMDs will feature bonus material. Video Business reports how this new format for releasing anime will affect retailers.
