The Opening of Big O looks like a Acid Trip

Me and some friends were at the Anime Club at our local libary (ITs closed now gone forever) we said that the person was a kid who took acid.
And when you see the charecters and things they were people or just objects.


The watch: Looking at the watch

Roger pops up: It was a business mans and you just vomited on his shoe

Dorothy: The goth girl who tells you to rot in hell in a robotic like voice....Creepy (JK)

Noman: A pirate.....Not really but we never knew what he would be.

Dastun: The cop arresting you for stealing the watch your wearing.


The car: Your right infront of it.

yeah there really isnt much point to the opening, and it totally misrepresents teh show......and the song is ripped off flash gordon.

But I've gotten used to it.

I liked the opening in episodes 14-19 much better. T don't understand why they went back to the old one after that.

Actually, the 2nd season opening music sounds much more like this show:

And, here is a comparision of the 2nd Season Big O opening music and the opening music to UFO. The UFO file is about 500kb and the Big O file is about 6mb.

Well, the opening for Acts 14-19 actually was supposed to be the opening for the entire second season (well, except for The Third Big, The Show Must Go On, and maybe a couple others that had openings with "recaps".)
[as] probably used the Season1 opening for the rest of the airings because some fans complained the new opening was "too different" or something.

i'm surpirsed they didn't put the season 2 opening on the dvds. that one looks so much cooler than the first season!

Yes I'll agree with that I think this opening is much more like the show. ^_^" But the orginial opening is kind of fun too.

Yeah that first season opening is messed up. My one guy friend says it looked like some guy threw the entire thing together in Flash in about 5 minutes, and then he sang the theme song. XD I like the song, though.

Yeah and season one's theme is pretty much Queen's Flash Gordon.

Although I like the second opening RESPECT better, the first season opening BIG O! fit the show more. It's a very retro-giant robot show (well it was.. until season two..), so the cheesy song and animation is a nice homage.

They actually slipped and put the first season opener in the beginning of the "Hydra" episode on the DVD. Too bad they didn't do that all the way through.

I think it's kind of a given that anime openings usually misrepresent the show. Ever seen the opening to "Escaflowne?" How 'bout "Chrono Crusade?" Definite proof that drugs are bad...
