Ever hear of the Eels?

They did that song Novicane for the Soul, but did a lot more (and better) things

It started off as Mark Oliver Everett, known as E, whose father invented the concept of Paralell universes and cousin was a flight attendent for the flight during 9/11 that hit the Pentagon. He had a solo career, but formed a band and called the the Eels. They came out with Beautiful Freak, with their well known song "Novicane for the Soul", but then Electro Shock Blues, Daisies of the Galaxy, Souljacker and Shootenanny.

Now the Eels just came out with a new double cd called Blinking Lights and Other Revelations, which is more mellow and somewhat emotional, but is probobly the greatest double cd I've heard since Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness or the Fragile.

And I saw them live in NY a few years back.

Has anyone heard of them?
