I can offer some writing skills...if you need some...I don't know what you would need (I haven't followed this that closely...), but I could work on at least a little bit.

If you want to see my style, just check out the RPG at the top of the forum.

We sure could use someone with some writing talents. Welcome to the team! Before we get down to what needs to be done, it is summer and some people do go away for vacation and stuff so what we can do is wait for a little bit longer and see if some more forum members would like to join the production team before we get down to working on the project.

Once again if you have any kind of interest in this project then please join the production team. The more people we have working on this the better it will be and the quicker it can be done!

Thanks for your time,

Dum Dum Dum. And so it is time to start work on this project again. But first a message:

Lets face it here people this project has pretty much fallen flat. Most of the wonderful artist once working on this project have gone, and while community wise this project had a nice following at the start it seems to have lost most of that following and now it is really only barely kept alive. Now I know this may be in part because I took to long in the animation phase and to this date have yet to actually release anything that has been completed (aside from the intro). And maybe I was a little too lazy at more than one point while working on this project.

But hopefully now is a new beginning, and to tell you the truth I have no intention of letting this project just die off (even if that means me working on it alone. Although that would be very time consuming and not very fun at all). So then in order to help move this project along I am going to change the premise to which people may give input so that any PCF member that so chooses may help (and of course if you do help you will be put in the credits).

And so the message ends and now it is time for an update.
As of my last post I have worked very little on this project. Reasons why aren't important but the fact of the matter is this project is like 8 months behind schedule lol. That’s ok though since it is only a project for fun so lets focus on the matter at hand. What is missing for the trailer to be complete is only about 2 or 3 more scenes and that’s it (and one of those scenes is almost complete).

And now time for the work.
So first things first is to complete the scene that is already almost completed. For this scene all that’s needed to complete it is:

1) A reference shot(s) of a car(s) from the Big O anime or manga (from as many angles as possible)

2) A reference shot(s) of some people (aka extras/ the people you see in the bg). Note these people need to be dressed for a club so I believe episode 2 (?) would be a good place to look.

3) A reference shot(s) of some people walking. (I wanna try and get as close to the original animation for the walking as possible.)

If you have found any of the three reference shots then please post a link to it in this thread. Welcome to the team. We will have this episode animated yet!

Thanks for your time,

Well that was what I would have needed but to tell you the truth I have been watching Big O recently and found all sorts of shots of the city I could use to finish off the part I was already close to finishing. The introduction is already a mix of artwork from the anime and artwork from the artist here at PCF so its not that big a deal to put some more artwork from the anime into the mix. This way I will be able to finish it faster and then animation on the "set" can begin.

Which brings me to my next point: It would seem that I have two versions of what the room used in the play should look like. There is the version that was linked in one of the post a while back and then there is the version which was used in the anime. Its not that much of a difference in terms of the layout, its only that the room in the anime is less detailed than the one that was posted a while back. So at any rate (though I admit this is thinking ahead a bit) I suppose the room design from the anime would be better since it already would give off a familiar feel. Without actually seeing the difference its kind of hard to explain so ill see what I can do about getting the two in a side by side shot. Oh btw if you have this just awesome screenshot of paradigm or, I suppose, roger's mansion that you think should be included in this episode then please feel free to post a link to it here.

For a while now work on this project has been halted. Its not exactly over its just that most members who were working on it quit and to that extent I have not been working on this project either. Its been a pretty hectic year so far (new apartment new college etc) although no real excuses for not working on it. At any rate it irks me to have projects unfinished. As such I would rather close down an open project than have it lingering around. Thus within 1 month I will begin work on this project for the last time. If by mid summer, July 4th to be exact, the introduction that I have been so close to finishing is not finished I will close down this project for good. If it is finished then everyone here who has not seen the intro trailer will be in for a treat and I will also make preparations for the next phase of animation for which I will set another, albeit more lax, deadline.

Now then,
As I said before after watching Big O again I have found that there are plenty of reference shots for me to use. However, since this is a fan based animation I wouldn't mind including more fan art. Therefore if you have drawn a picture of paradigm city (the whole city, an alley way, a road, Roger's house, etc) and would like to have it in this intro just post the pic in this thread. For the most part this project now has an open production team so there is no point in asking people to join the team. However there isn't much point in this thread if all I am doing is talking to myself so to speak. So if you think this project has even a shred of potential help out and at least make a post. If i know there is more warrant for this project I would definitely be more inclined to work on it.

schwarzwald shuld be in there he a good charater
Ace378 07-04-2007 11:44 AM
Well he is mentioned but im afriad he does not play an important role...
---------------------

Well then it is July 4th and after putting in some major hours yesterday (close to 12 hours ><) I was able to finish the intro finally. (it doesn't have a preloader, sorry about that, so it may slowdown on ya while your watching it)

ENJOY!

Now then since that is completed I started working on the next scene and figured it would be kinda cool to show everyone kind of what it takes to remake a scene. This EXTRA kinda shows you whats going on. It took over 1000 different motions to do this one scene (just fyi Tongue ). Btw feel free to discuss both movies in this thread.

That... Was... AWSOME!!!!

That was what pretty good example of flash player animation right there.

That was absolutely incredible! You should be very proud of yourself. Smile

I kinda wish they did a recording of the drama in English...

Absolutely fantastic work Ace378! Big Grin Thumbs Up

I'm very happy to be a part of this project, and I'll continue to help out as much as possible as long as you need it. Pleased

I loved watching the tracing of the image, and you did a wonderful job on the opening! Cool

Thanks for all the compliments! This animation is suppose to be a mix between images close to the real series and then images made by fans. I think it turned out pretty good though I’m not quite 100% satisfied with it (just a little bit of tweaking is needed I think). At any rate I am glad to at least have completed these few seconds of the episode. What I foresee of this project is first the completion of the piano room where the episode takes place. When that is completed and every angle of the room is animated to fit the episode's requirements we can move on to putting the characters in and then animating them. After the characters have been inserted and animated a subtitle track will be put on but as of this moment no audio other than some kind of music in the background is being planned (so it will kind of be like watching an episode muted except you will be able to hear the background music...well kind of). I’m not to sure about the whole soundtrack to be honest but that’s still kind of far away so that’s ok. Well thanks for all the support and I look forward to working on this project some more in the future.
