Why do we like Dorothy so much?

I'm not saying I don't like Dorothy, she's my second favorite character in Big-O besides Roger Smith. I'm confused, however, on why so many people on these boards like her so much.

I mean, some people on these boards are so obsessed with Dorothy it's kind of creepy. Then there are all those Dorothy fan sites out there which make up almost 1/3 of all the Big-O fan sites on the internet. It doesn't make sense to me how one character can have such a fan club.

Again, It's not that I don't like her, it's just that I don't really see how anyone would get so obsessed over her.

"Female" main character. that's pretty much the reason. if she was completely different from now, she'd probably still have the same # of crazed fans. i agree w/you, she's not my favorite, but i don't dislike her. favorite being Schwarzwald.

CUZ she's teh H0ttZ!!!!!

....

Red Face actually, you know what, Dorothy was the reason I started watching Big O in the first place. I would watch adult swim, see the Big O commercial, and get the theme song stuck in my head. Then seeing Dorothy jump down and supprt Roger's arm from the end of R.D. just seemed like a cool scene. So one day, I decided to catch the show, and once again, Dorothy did it for me. The first episode I ever saw was Dorothy, Dorothy, and I lost it when she said "your sense of fashion...really reeks". I don't know why, but I just found it hilarious, so I kept watching.

She's my favorite character in the show. But I am by no means obsessed with her like some of the people and fansites you mentioned. Here are the reasons why I like her so much:

- She doesn't talk too much, and when she does talk it's usually funny or important
- I can tell that she understands humans a lot more than she lets on, and it's funny to see Roger learn a lesson in humanity from a non human.
- She likes cats :3
- She looks frail and feminine, but she can probably bench press 5000 pounds.
- I've always had a thing for women with pale skin.
- That robot "whirring" sound she makes sometimes cracks me up

Like..the first five posts I made on here.

Look I still say that whirring noise was pretty cool if you think about it. And I stand by that statement.

Okay, so I'm not alone at least.

I believe I touched on this subject a year or so ago. So, let's recap on my insane obsession for our red-headed love machine...

Why I would pick Dorothy over Angel?

Wow, that pretty much explains everything. It does seem that she was designed to appeal to shy people who are more likely to watch Big-O.

Aww oh yes I remeber this thread ^_^"" I defently love Dorothy over Angel so much, mostly because I think she was a character tended to be for more shy people but also for the fact that I always felt she stayed true to herself. ^_^"

We like Dorothy because she is the cool.

Seriously, there's very little to dislike about her so it's easy to like her a lot. She's intelligent, witty, attractive, highly capable and knows how to put Roger in his place with only a few words. She's also demure and humble but sure of herself and a bastion of stability in a confusing world. In other words, she's pretty much perfect.

Dorothy is cool. period!

the way she wakes roger, the she lightens a situation, they she she acts. i think she portrays how a strong woman should act. not only that, she is the main female character! Cool
