Pierce Brosnan will play James Bond in the next 007 film, co-star Dame Judi Dench has revealed
The 51-year-old will reprise his role as the suave secret agent in Casino Royale, she said.
'Despite the fact that everyone on the face of the Earth has been tested as his possible replacement, Pierce will be doing it again,' added Dench, who plays M in the movies.
'It will be announced come the summer.'

yes! although Brosnan isn't the best Bond, the "replacements" were even worse. nice find.
I thought Brosnan was a good Bond. It was just the storylines that sucked. Goldeneye kicked all kinds of ass, though, and Die Another Day was actually pretty good.

I think Brosnan is good as Bond!
My favorite Bond movies are Goldeneye and The World Is Not Enough! ^_^

Props my friend. Brosnan is/was a good Bond in my opinion as well. He looked the part, acted the part, and brought the role to the 21st century really really well. Goldeneye is one of the top 3 Bond movies in my opinion...its a shame he had to suffer through The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day, Everything or Nothing, and Tomorrow Never Dies.
Hopefully a good Bond movie can be done to close the Brosnan chapter, much like Goldeneye opened it...

Another vote for Brosnan here.
The only one of his four Bond forays that I disliked was "Tomorrow Never Dies".

YES! This makes my day! Brosnan is the ONLY Bond (but he's the only one I've been exposed to) that I know. I'd rather have him than some of the replacements. Maybe one day they'll find the next Bond, but not now.
He's soooo pretty.

(and I don't care for the fact he's closer to my mom's age than mine

)

"Who is the best Bond?" Is not a question that can be answered with an opinion. There is only one answer:
Sean Connery
Anyone who hesitates to answer or, worse yet, answers anyone other than Sean Connery is a communist.
Which
isn't a good thing.
And, I like Brosnan as Bond. Pretty good stuff.

Wooooooow, I am surprised. I thought for sure DaD was Brosnan's last Bond movie. I'm quite happy he's back once again. After all, if it wasn't for his performance in Goldeneye I probably wouldn't be into 007.

Wow, I could have sworn he would never return...But I'm glad he did! I really do like him as, I guess you could say, our generation's Bond.

This makes me a very happy lad. I was not looking forward to having a new James Bond, as I am in great fear of having another Timothy Dalton (I hated Dalton, he was just plain bad). Brosnen has been a very good James Bond. Goldeneye was brilliant, and most of the others have been very good.
Still, the greatest James Bond was Sean Connery. There really is no other contender for the title. His films were unbelievably good. My heart explodes with joy when I watch them.
You know, one other James Bond character might be making a return as well. Yes, thats right, The Soviet Union! The way Putin has been acting recently, I wouldn't be suprised if we see communism return to Russia, and possibly the return of the good old Soviets. This of course, means that Bond will actually have a reoccuring enemy to deal with. Yipee!

I hope this 'Casino Royale' will be better than the original, no matter who Bond is this generation.

actually, my favorite Bond was Timothy Dalton. he came closest, in my mind, to the borderline sociopath that was Cmdr. Bond in the early novels. Admittedly, that might have been partly the scripts, though.
I am a huge fan of the Connery Bond, don't get me wrong, especially in the earlier films. but Dalton, especially in "licence to Kill" felt more correct to me. Bond is not a nice man, by the origianl cannon. one could argue that he's not even a good man, but rather a bad man doing good, more or less.

LOL! Yes, I'd have to agree on you with that, Pen! Pierce is rather nice eyecandy.
Glad he's staying with it through another film!

Gives them more time to find the right person to be the next Bond.

I think the best thing ever would be if Ewan Mcgregor were to be the next Bond. he could pull it off, no doubt about it!
