8 New Clips Are ***DOWN**

Give me a prequel of Gordon Rosewater's role in the event or how Roger meets Big O or something and I'll be satisfied.
Mike 09-15-2003 09:36 PM
Yes, exactly. I want to see the Event, if it was a war between nations, and what role the Bigs played. Or even how Seebach found out what he learned.
Megadeus 09-15-2003 09:51 PM
You know, everyone here is VEERRRYYY lucky I stuck with watching Big O.

I just happened to be channel surfing one night a few years ago and came across this show that had the "Look" of Batman but I could tell it was an anime show. I really did not think anything of it until I was surfing again another night and saw the first 'deus fight. My jaw just about dropped on to the floor Shocked I was kicking myself for not watching this the FIRST time I saw it. At that point I was thinking it was like another anime show WITHOUT and kind of plot that I would be interested in (I know, I'm talking about Outlaw Star and a few others) BUT I do like anime in general. I'm not dissing these shows, I just never got into them.

Anyways, I thought to myself the above and as I said I was kicking myself. THEN it hit me! Hey, this show has a plot. A REEAALLLLY good plot that is making me "Think" (something I have not done for awhile Big Grin )(Just ask my wife Shocked )

And so it started. I was SOOOOO mad when it stopped at Act 13. BUT, I was in luck. It was re-running so I taped Acts 1-13 right after that.

This is basically in response to The Big Omega's post. I do have to agree - Big O is/was great from Day 1, Act 1. It COULD go stale if it is run into the ground BUT I believe the creators won't let that happen. I mean, geez, they almost stopped it at Act 13. Talk about not going stale - Ending O at Act 13 was like the bread still cooking in the oven - Hardly stale at all.

I, too, can see POSSIBLY another 13 Acts BUT that should be it. Well, maybe 26 BUT that should definately be it. I used to watch DBZ all the time but I really got tired of the grunts and groans and THEN, HEY, A punch, then grunts and groan **POWERBLAST** and so on.

So, I'm very lucky to be here right now. I almost missed it! I almost missed "The Boat" on this series. I missed it on another and it took me years to get to finally see the whole thing so I'm glad I have this board AND my capture card AND my dvd burner - This Big O will last forever (well, almost) Big Grin

***BTW*** Since the series is coming down to the end there is not too much left for me to post clips from that DOESN"T have alot of Japanese dialogue in it. SO, I'll probably be posting 1-2 more time worth of clips and then I'll half to hang up my coat Crying

So, if there is another set of Acts after 26, you better watch out for the spoilers 'cause I WILL try my hardest to get them for you Cool

I would really like to see Shwarz finding the truth and most importantly, The Event!

I believe if done right, Big O, for another set of Acts, could be a prequal show. Just like Star Wars. I don't see any problem with Star Wars at all. It's kind of cool that we get to see everything that happened BEFORE everything that we have all seen.

Again, if DONE RIGHT, it could even out do the current 26 Acts. Especially if they get the same voice cast. It would be pretty cool to see Roger(Pre-Tomato-Head) shaking hands with Gordon, Alex as a young boy (Toy Fau anyone?). Maybe even go as far as showing some of Rogers childhood, tramatic or not, I know some here would like to see it. Maybe something has been controlling him for his entire life (Truman Show anyone?) so if we get to see him as a small boy, we would know.

Dude... A feature where we could follow Michael Seebach's quest for the truth would rule. We'd get to see exactly what made him nuts and what justifications he has for committing his acts.

From what we have seen (both aired and in the spoilers) I think we can figure out what Shwarz saw/made him go crazy.***

***Have you ever seen "Dark City"? There was a detective called Walenski. He finds out about the truth of what is going on in Dark City and it drives him nuts, like Shwarz.

Six more episodes huh? All I can hope for is that the whole story is resolved by then but if it’s not it certainly wouldn’t be any skin off my nose if we all get another 13 or even 26 new episodes for season 3 if or when it does happen. Can’t say I’d mind waiting that long for new seasons anyways I’ve waited this long to see season one and two so why not wait another two years for a new Big O. I just hope I don’t got insane like our dear friend Schwarzwald.

*Nods to Megadeus* Thank you for sharing and allowing us to see your clips, your generosity is commendable.

I am ever so happy to let everyone know ( and excit them even MORE) about what is coming up Pleased

I caught a quick look last night while Big O was on and what I saw made me want to watch it right there and then. I was right at the end of watching "Identity" so i couldn't leave. I also waited until I got all of the clips made then while watching it I uploaded them.
It was really nice to FINALLY understand what was being said and it is all coming together now. I just wish there was more clarification on the

spoiler (highlight to read):
"Lights in the Sky" deal. I mean, with the grid work in Act 26 and seeing the studio lights - The 2 don't mix well.
perfectturmoil 09-15-2003 11:36 PM
you know what i was thinking? well.. im gonna put this in spoilers just to be sure

spoiler (highlight to read):
So supposedly the loop gets reset and blah blah.. the third season could do two things. it could show angel and dorothy trying to get roger out of the loop

or

it could turn into single vinettes describing different things. similar to how season one piece by piece built up the city of paradigm to us, revealing one piece at a time, and building up character development one episode at a time. season 3 could do the same thing, except before. not actually a prequell, but more of just an in depth look at who the characters are.

run 3 episodes showing who angel really is, (her job within the union, her real motivations, whatever)

run 3 episodes showing the relationship of roger and dastun (well before big o shows up - rogers job in the military police and what he was like before)

run 3 episodes about norman (show more than just the butler.. show his real life before roger showed up)

run 3 episodes on rosewater (doesn't really matter which.. but one showing the relationship between both would be real cool)

thats twelve. so what could make up episode 13? a culmination of all these stories into the story we know now. this could lead perfectly into season 1 episode 1.

whatdya think?
Rouge 09-16-2003 02:00 AM
I was wondering Megadeuse, how did you get the Season 2 Japanese episodes? And you know japanese? Confused
Roger the Wanderer 09-16-2003 03:33 AM
I think I've said this before, but I can't help myself:

YOU ROCK, MEGADEUS!!! YOU ARE THE GREATEST!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!

Now that that's out of my system, now I'm just going back to watch the clips.

Hm, those look like giant spotlights, and if you think about it, the angel/satellite that nearly wrecked Paradigm City did look sorta like a giant spotlight. And the continuing mystery of whether they are all stuck in a giant TV show/virtual reality.

And if Schwarzwald still had control over Big Duo, as when he was speaking, and then the "Ye Guilty" appeared in the cockpit, its possible that since Big Duo was already heavily damaged, might as well use its last bit of power to try to unvei the truth one more time.

I wonder about who all those workers are? Union workers? Tongue Or maybe just random people outside the domes who want to help.

And who knew Roger's mansion was so heavily armed? I don't get why Roger has a no guns policy, while Norman has enough ammunition for a small army lying around.

Oh yeah, does anybody here remember this old cartoon called Ducktales? Its a bit off-topic, but in that series, once or twice they had this giant heavily armed building defend itself against an army, and those clips just really reminded me of it.

Again, really cool how Norman managed to hold off lots of those scorpion-drones, and how he kept pulling out more guns, and even had a grappling hook like Roger.

Beck is back, thankfully without the afro, he looks much more like a professional gangster now. Though even he doesn't look too enthusiastic anymore.

And I think this is the first time Big O has acted somewhat on its own since ep. 13. I mean on its own as it taking action, not just shutting down like in "Stripes". I think the reason why it tried to protect Dorothy is because, like Schwarzwald said, do Megedeuses choose their own masters? I think Big O was just echoing and/or obeying Roger's desire to protect Dorothy.

And that one shot where it shows both Roger and Big O reaching for the kidnapped Dorothy, both with their arms raised, was beautiful! Really shows the link between Dominus and Megadeus.

There goes Roger's mansion, since Big O just literally stepped out of it. It would be a bit of a giveaway to people, but I think by now, just about all the major players already know he's the pilot of Big O.

Cool scene with the joystick, trying to reach Dorothy before she's out of reach. Just too bad it was intercepted by Big Duo and Alan. I almsot screamed, until I remember he's strangled by the ghost of Schwarzwald in the next episode.

I wouldn't mind an OAV, or a short movie or prequel, but not another series. It would be great, but I say juts let it end on a good note, and try not to extend it too much, or else the plot might fall apart. Besides, some of the greatest anime series have only been 26 episodes and had great plots.

And man, seems like everybody but Roger already knows he likes Dorothy. At least I think he likes her. Its always hard to tell with those two.
JinguJ 09-16-2003 05:58 AM
Hmm... the one that fascinates me the most that Big O can move by itself.

And.. I am not too sure if Roger likes her in that way.. perhaps it's like brother/sister?

Hmm not sure about that either.. but now we know that he cares HELLA lot of her.
David F 09-16-2003 09:34 AM
Dorothy does have a unique bond with megadeuses so it’s anyone’s guess as perhaps that the Big O is trying to protect her. The Big O after all isn’t just another mindless megadeus it may in fact be sentient.
Bioman11 09-25-2003 02:41 PM
i can't seem to view the clips. it says my Window's Media Player doesn't support the file. what should i do? i really want to see what happens in the clips!
Sixfortyfive 09-25-2003 03:00 PM
You need to update the codecs. Go to microsoft.com and download the latest version or something.
