This movie really is as good as others have said it was. I was in for a surprise when I first saw it back during the summer of 2002. I like the characters and the environment. It also had some small moments of humor, like the scene where Maverick and Goose fly by the tower, and the guy spills his coffee all over his uniform, and then the scene after the next, you hear him yelling at the Commander about what happened, and he's like "I want some butts, and I want them now!", then when he leaves the office, he bumps into a guy carrying a tray of coffee, and says "***dammit! That's twice! I want some butts!". This movie is indeed a classic. I especially love THE SOUNDTRACK. You've got that fantastic score by Harold Faltermeyer, those two Kenny Loggins tunes, "Mighty Wings" by Cheap Trick, "Heaven In Your Eyes" by Loverboy, and the classic "Top Gun Anthem" by Harold Faltermeyer & Steve Stevens.
