Nope, she really did say it. Right at the end. Everyone was laughing and clapping after that line.

Wow Lol , I can Imagine how funny that is. I got's to see it !

I saw it early this morning (the theater opens extra early on saturday sometimes here). It sucked so hard. Samara popped up on the screen whenever they could put her on it, thus making it redundant. And the CGI was crap.

I did like that line, though. "I'M NOT YOUR f***ING MOMMY!" Everything else was terrible.

Decided to see it today. It was good, but not as good as the first. Ring 2 doesn't keep the dark/rainy/grey atmosphere the first had. The faces of the corpses weren't as disturbing as the first face from the Ring 1. The graphics for the animated deer were Neutral , though the rest was okay. Near the end, I thought about something:
spoiler (highlight to read):
Racheal had the same depression-whatever as the mother of Samara. (Uh, Samara was adopted, right? I didn't pay attention much during that part. ._.) The mother who adopted Samara had gone insane because of the visions she was giving her, so she killed her and herself. Now, Samara is trying to possess Aiden so she can live again. The only way to prevent this or stop it is to kill Aiden. I don't know if this could be true, but this was just an idea: what if there is a bigger "Ring" than just the video tape? That the spirit of the current "killer", Samara (For lack of a better word) will try to possess another person. That possessed person will have to be killed, so when he/she is, that person would become the next "killer", who wants to live again, so they search for another person to possess... Unfortunately the movie proved me wrong by the end so there went my theory... Embarrassed Sweatdrop Just my random ranting. >_>;

And yes, that line was awesome. Thumbs Up

I totally agree - I actually felt myself getting a little tense Shocked

All in all I thought it was better than the first one, but from me that's not saying much as I didn't really like the first movie. I thought The Ring 2 had a better story than the first one, but it really wasn't all that scary.

However,
spoiler (highlight to read):
The lightning streaking across the sky at the end just screams "The Ring 3."

I hope I'm wrong Frown

I doubt it. The end scene with Samara and Racheal in the well was pretty much of 'it's over now' sign for The Ring. Besides there are so many Ringu/whatever the Korean Ring movies are called. I don't think American needs to make a rival for 'Ringu Sprial'...

EDIT: Fixed movie title.

You seem to be forgetting Ring Ø .....They might make a whole movie centered around Samara's past like they did with Sadako. But other then that....it's over. I don't think that they will remake Spiral and The Ring Virus. It just wouldn't work.

Besides. If you think about it, since Samara's was much younger then Sadako at the time of her death...a Ring Ø remake wouldn't work. But now that I think about it, Spiral MIGHT work if they do deside to make it. Just because what no one knows what happened to Noah's body after the movie ended and what's her face (Mai's counterpart). But I don't think they will do that....

Still haven't seen it.....will soon, I hope...

the first one was one of the most overrated movies of all time,in my opinion. i hated it.

the other night, my friends dragged me into the theater to see the second one, and i must say that it absolutely reeks, as well. i would have been pissed, had i actually paid to get in.

not to mention that the entire theater burst out into uncontrollable laughter during that rediculously fake-looking deer scene, which i think was meant to be serious but ended up being the movie's only highlight.

hollywood isn't even trying anymore.

A terribly disappointing sequel. Almost as bad as the sequel to the Matrix (no offense to anyone, both sequels could've gone out much better than it had).

THe deer scene was hilarious. And I found the tub scene pretty cool

spoiler (highlight to read):
where all the water was sprayed everywhere

but other than that, the Ring 2 could have been waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.
Captain Maw 03-30-2005 11:22 PM
yeah, the commercial airs on AS sometimes, the bathtub thing was reeking of What Lies Beneath, i heard that it wasn't that good...
shiine-chan 04-02-2005 08:43 AM
How is Ring 2? How does it compared to the original Japanese Ring 2. I Hated the original if you must know... It isnt scary anymore. Not that I'm afraid in the first installment and all... Whew, nice to be back here...
Redd 04-03-2005 08:45 PM
Well, still havent had a chance to see it yet, but I have a funny story about it...

Well, first when I went to Spain they had HUGE posters in Madrid of Ring Two, and i also saw a commericial for it in Spanish that cracked me up. "The Ring.............. dos......" I couldn't stop laughing about that, for some reason.... hmm, oh well.

I still want to see it though....
Lupin IV 04-07-2005 07:48 PM
Well, ok, I just saw it. Overall, I pretty much thought the entire thing was a snooze fest. I was even disappointed by Rachael's crowning "line"...she could have at least screamed it, instead of muttering it under her breath. Everything else seemed too "Hollywood" for me.
spoiler (highlight to read):
Especially the way Samara just almost reaches Rach after being kicked off.

spoiler (highlight to read):
BTW, the way Rach sealed up the well seemed like a pretty strong "Thus Endeth Samara" to me. Who knows, maybe they will bring the Ring 0 here. Look what happened to The Mummy...The Scorpion King. And they're already filming The 2nd Grudge, I believe.
dancinggummi88 06-15-2005 09:24 AM
i thought making a sequal to the ring was really stupid...
the first oe was enough .... the second one just gave the movie a bad twist... and now i dont ever want to see that movie again... Mad
