Not any particular forum, I'm just saying I'm glad there aren't a bunch of diehard Frances fans on here who'd chew my ass off if I said anything remotely negative about it.

The majority opinion on Frances seems to be slightly negative anyway. wtvr.

seein'em live #3 in month.

The Mars Volta cast that performed Amputechture will be modified for live dates that begin imminently, with drummer Jon Theodore replaced by Blake Fleming, formerly of Laddio Bolocko and Dazzling Killmen and actually the drummer who played on the very first Mars Volta demos. Pablo Hinojos-Gonzalez will expand his role, contributing both guitar and sound manipulation skills. Finally, while not a member of the touring Mars Volta band per se, Amputechture contributor John Frusciante, on the other hand, will be in close proximity, as his Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Mars Volta are scheduled to tour together through November 2006.

Mars Volta is indeed horrible, just based on the fact that the "Travis Bickle" guy listens to them.

A lot has happened since the release of Amputechture. Especially

RAPID FIRE TOLLBOOTH

and Interstellar Overdrive covers.

Nah, Travis Bickle listens to Jackson Browne. But you get a point for effort.

"The kiosk in my tempral lobe is shaped like Rosalyn Carter"

If you take the lyrics seriously, you will fail. Not everyone can be Jeff Magnum.

However, they're probably the best prog rock band around.

Funny story I listened in to today involving the Volta;

I was resting in the tv area in the Student Lounge and while Girlfriends was finishing up, there were these two kids talking about the Mars Volta. With my interest tapped in, I listened to one guy's story about his time at a Mars Volta concert recently.

Apparently, he was pretty damn close to the stage at a concert he went to and the lead singer was pissed at the crowd for some reason or another and jumped off the stage, to the audience and started stealing people's beers and throwing them all over the place and towards people. So, this dude telling the story said he came up from behind the lead man and grabbed him in a headlock. The already pissed-off singer got even more pissed and tried to get out of the hold and to try to rip away the guy's 40 ounce that he had with him. He got ouf of the hold and tried to get the beer from the kid but he couldn't and the kid ripped the drink away from him and threw it towards the singer.

Then he was heading towards class and left. So yeah, I'm not sure if its at all true or whatnot but just thought I'd share that here.

EDIT:

Oh my. Interrupting him during Desparate Housewives and his updates on MySpace would be very interesting though.
Peace.
