Worst/Most Boring Book You've Ever Read

I'd have to say in my personal opinion, the worst books I ever read were all of Dan Brown's literary works (especially Digital Fortress). Seriously, do you even have to try anymore to make it on the New York Times Bestseller List? Because it really seems the NY Times will post anything as long as it's longer than 90 pages.

Also, I seriously was ready to fall asleep halfway through 1984. It's plot is so unbelievable when compared to Brave New World I wanted to weep in disbelief and suffering. That book was a torment for me, body and soul.

I despised Into the Wild, a book by Jon Krakauer(?) about an idiot boy who goes to alaska and dies. Whoop-de-freaking-do. The kid used absolutely no sense at all, there was no point to his journey and he died a wasteful, needless and unecessary death. Frankly, I'm surprised the subject of his book didn't earn himself a Darwin Award, rather than this piece of crap.

Well that JFK Book probably only made the bestseller list because his dad bought a wherehouse worth of books. It's a common occurence.

WORST book in Junior english... except maybe House on Mango Street. Yeah...

OH MY GOD

House on Mango Street is the most boring book. Ever. It's even worse than The Scarlet Letter. And that book is like staring at a tree grow.

Pride & Prejudice is awful, too. I loathed that book with every fiber of my being. So...boring...so...retarted

THe worst book I have ever read was...."The Bluest Eye" by Toni Morrison. First off Oprah endorses this book so that should be warning enough.
The book is about a little girl who is raped and impregnated by her father....out of his love for her....aww how sweet of him. The book features her rapist father and two bonus child molestes! It's full of hatred of....

-people who attempt to better themselves
My IDIS 280 TA, loves this book...hell she decided to read passages of it as a spoken blues song or some bullsh** or whatever. That TA was sooooo stupid, I did my final presentation on something...and she didn't understand what I was talking about. She must be a joke by the interdis department...no one could ever take that emo seriously. Yes she was and emo....she's like ZOMG Radiohead is the best evar! and she dressed in black...every day, and had her hair dyed black and about fourteen peircings in each ear...she probably writes bad poetry on her myspace account....yes she has a myspace account.

I offer this as proof that you should never just randomly read what's on the coffee table on a boring day:

A small novel by the name of Stargirl, about a boy who tries to understand a free-spirited girl while he is in what has to be perhaps the most stereotypical high school ever fictionally created. And I'm talking ever, including TV sitcoms that deal about high school stereotypes.

Anyway, long story short, he falls for her but ends up breaking it off because she's not in the same social standing, despite all the similarities they have. I wanted to reach into the novel and bitch slap the kid. Repeatedly.

God, it was so horribly cliched. What an awful waste of paper.

I finally read Artemis Fowl to get my sister off my back...


DEAR GOD, I WANT THOSE 3 HOURS OF MY LIFE BACK. Artemis Fowl has murdered me a little.

In my senior year of highschool I was assigned to read a book called "The Life and Times of Michael K". It was a short book....but every word made me die a little on the inside. I"ll go ahead and ruin the end of the book for you....in the end Micheal K recieves a blow-job from a prostitute (out of pity) and curls up and dies in a corner after receiving said blow job.

I think I could add "A Million Little Pieces" to the list. It bore me to no end.

My AP chemistry book is pretty bad...

What AP chem book are you using. I took AP chem in highschool and my book was far better than the one I got at college. Hell the whole course was better designed and set up than the one I took in college.

On Liberty by John S. Mill.....boring. This guy is old and dead thank god so he can't write any more boring crap. I'm a pol sci major, and I enjoy reading MOST political theorists books. Hell I love John Locke, that guy is confusing but so totally right about stuff. But Mill....snore.

Recently:

Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code: Yeah, it's got that neat use of history and art to keep me interested, but it throws in a whole bunch of fantasy/ludricous ideas. Plus, the characters are somewhat stale and always state the obvious (such as hearing footsteps and thinking or saying, "someone's coming!" ya think?). And the most annoying feature is the dependency on hiding story elements from the readers (but that the characters know) to make us think chapters end on a cliffhanger (such as: It was the most riveting image he had ever seen in his life . . . . . but we won't tell you about it for seven more chapters).


Artemis Fowl: Snobby little kid genious mastermind thief. "Hip" present day take on fairies and such. I'll pass.

Probably Raptor Red, it was made around the time Jurassic Park was new and popular, so my parents got it from the library thinking I'd enjoy it.

I read a few of the first chapters....and you must understand, it was somewhat third person about a female velociraptor and her "crew"..and it was boring as hell but a furries paradise I guess.

I skipped to the end and it dealt with the female raptor finally allowing the "new male of the crew" to copulate with her. Yeah that....that was pretty disturbing at that age.

the worst book i've read right now is anything by ophra. i'm not old and i'm not a woman, i see no reason for anyone to be part of her book club.

In either my 9th or 10th year I started a book called "Angel With A Sword" and it was the first book I didn't finish, I didn't even get half way through. That book still stands as the first I haven't finished, and didn't like.
Most every single book I pick up and read I like and would want a copy for myself.

The latest book I read was I, Corriander. It could have been such a GREAT book but the mythology was barely there for being a fantasy book. She goes to the fantasy world three times. I COUNTED. None the less, it was a free review book, but such a disappointment.

I never finished Ruby In the Smoke and I hope to do that soon because of the movie being made. I plan to see it. I remember it being boring but I don't think I'll think that now.

Both Chronicles or Narnia and Artmis Fowl are great books, espally CoN.
