Mad Max

Would there happen to be any fans of the Mad Max trilogy here? I recently viewed the first film on AMC, who showed it uncut with the original Australian dialogue (it was originally dubbed when released in America), and I have to say it's now one of my favorite action movies. I now plan on renting the other two, Mad Max II (or The Road Warrior, as it is known in the US) and Mad Max III: Beyond the Thunderdome.

The first movie, Mad Max, is set in a post-apocolyptic society with run-down cities, rual wastelands, and outlaws running amok. A turned-ex-police officer with the nickname Mad Max (Mel Gibson) attempts to track down a rogue biker gang who killed a fellow officer and later his family as revenge for the death of their leader.

The Mad Max trilogy is by far one of my most favorites (along with the Godfathers and Star Wars). Mel Gibson rocked, but the supporting cast weren't bad either. Bruce Spence ("The Shrimp on the Barbie", "Dark City", "The Matrix Revolutions") and Virginia Hey ("Farscape") were a few that really added a lot to this already great series. So consider me a big fan of this Australian flick. Big Grin

*chants* Two men enter, one man leaves! Two men enter, one man leaves!

You'll understand that once you watch Thunderdome, which is amazingly awesome. In fact, all the Mad Max movies are amazingly awesome. Big Grin
