This year...was actually one of my more...material Christmases, I suppose, in terms of gifts received. Usually I do not ask (or receive) nearly as much as I did this year...
Of music and soundtracks, I have thus far received:
- The Light in the Piazza (Original Broadway Cast)
- The Woman in White (Original London Cast)
- Martin Guerre (1999 London Cast)
- The Scarlet Pimpernel (Original Broadway Cast)
- The Very Best of Andrew Lloyd Webber: The Broadway Collection
- The Very Best of Andrew Lloyd Webber with the Starlite Orchestra
- Lea Salonga by...Lea Salonga (Yeah, she wasn't very original with the title of this album)
Hopefully, I'll have a few more Lea Salonga albums (specifically By Heart, the Christmas Album, Broadway Collection, and Live volumes 1 and 2) coming to me in a few days--that would be very nice. Being as they are essentially impossible to track down in music stores, the only real way to obtain any of them is via internet--and only if you know where to look.
And although
I know where to look, my mother didn't, so...hence the delay.
Of games, I have thus far received:
- Dragon Quest VIII
- Age of Empires III
I will be receiving Civilization IV in a week or so--copy is currently sitting in Florida. My aunt left it at home or something along those lines. Doesn't bother me, none: I'm happy enough that I'll be receiving it.

I coud not really care when.
Of books, I have thus far received:
- The Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis (single volume edition)
- The Varieties of Religious Experiences by William James
- A new Journal (made in Italy!)
I'll probably make a run to the bookstore to pick up MaGuire's
Son of a Witch or Dostoevsky's
The Idiot...we'll see. My secret Santa eschewed those (and Russel's
History of Western Philosophy) in favor of the Journal, which I will admit is far more practical (and probably far more desired by me, anyhow).
Other presents included a desk lamp and miscellaneous clothing items. All in all, I consider myself very fortunate that I have such generous relatives.
...also fortunate that the New York City transit strike did not last much longer, or there probably would not have
been a Christmas for my family. That's the problem when your father works for transit and loses a week's pay in three days.

Santa brought us a DVD/VCR combo with a built in amplifier and 5-speaker surround sound plus subwoofer. Woo-hoo! The old DVD/VCR had bitten the dust.
The surround sound is an ENORMOUS improvement, especially after I found the two speakers that Big Pluto had installed without stripping the insulation from the wires. They work a lot better when the signal can get through. |
How did Santa fit that down the chimmney?

The Ultrasaurus Itself: is one of the greatest Zoids on the Tv series Zoids ._. no brainer so far, anyway, it wasn't put into full use untill the fate of the world was at steak, then Dr. Leon (Sorry if Name Butchered) created the ultimate weapon the gravity cannon, this weapon spanned almost 1 mile long and it held 3 shells, each shell once fired created a black whole and basically killed the enemy @_@. |
Er... Are you talking in terms of the Model storyline or the TV Show, cause in the shows, Dr. Leon was from New Century Zero. It was Dr. D that developed the Gravity Cannon in the Guylos Empire and then attached it to the Helic Republic's Ultrasaurus for use against the Deathstinger, and later, the Deathsaurer.
Chanukkah has not started yet, and even when it does, I doubt I'll get much, because since while the youngest in my immediate family, I'm already 18, my parents consider their kids mature enough to not need tons of presents to keep them happy. None the less, one friend from school gave my a fortunte cookie and other small snacks before Winter Break started.

I GOT GIFTS!! ^^
One of my sisters got me this stress wrist curler thing, because even when I workout with weights for months, I get no results.
My other sister got my two CDs. I thought they'd be jazz CDs cause I had mentioned to her before I wanted The Rippingtons soundtrack.. but to my uttter amazement, they were
The Big O Original Sound Score and The Big O Original Sound Score II. That shocked me but was an utterly sweet gift.
My parents got me two tshirts. and an mp3 player. they said I can exchange it for an iPod if I want once the store has them in stock. I'll wait to see what to do about that.

I received from my family one very nice Timex wristwatch,
which even on the smallest size slips on my wrist.
And, I got an equally nice silver cross necklace which I appreciate very much.
And two new pairs of knit pajama pants, to make my long hours working
at the the computer more comfortable.
Of course, the best thing was that my whole family was there, including my
uncle, who dropped by to see if the house had burned down or not,
thanks to the breaker box and wiring he recently installed.
He'll soon be giving us the gift that keeps on giving-- a new bathroom!
Not to mention the food was very good. Seasoned christmas ham
and turkey on white rice, with a bit of rum cake... Mmm.
The only thing missing was snow. But that's understandable, where I live.

"He hasn't been
all right since the lunar war..."
Um...yeah. Two books (well...four if you get technical, ones kind of a compilation). A homemade sweater which...didn't come out perfect, I don't know we apparently own a loom now. Some pencils and a journal I'll probably never use. A pipe tobacco pouch and this...it's a bag of some sort, with this incoherent raving written on it, (not to turn this into some debate about the levels of tryptophan in foods, but if theres any truth to that then I'm pretty much doped up on it by now) so...that was bizzare...
Also I think there were socks involved. Warm ones.
It...it dosen't matter all that much, being as this is "round 1" of sorts. My birthdays less than a week from now so yeah.
Cell phone, EB Games gift card, new PJ's, and this pillow thing.
I got myself Animal Crossing DS and the Excel Saga boxed set.

My mom gave me an
Ove Glove, which is pretty nice. Now I don't have to use my firefighting gloves to take pans out of the oven!
ACT gave me a new boom box that plays CDs and MP3s, along with an MP3 he recorded for me! That's a useful present (especially considering the short lifetime of boom boxes around here). I'm going to keep this one in my office with charged batteries in it to listen for school cancellations when it gets slick or snowy.

I got a rockin' new cell phone, cause my old one, the 2 key was broken and it cut out every two minutes, a Nintendo DS with Nintendogs, and a buncha DVD's. Including Family Guy, season 3, yo! If someone will tell me how, I'll rip them whatever they'de like.
Surprisingly, I didn't get ONE roll of duct tape. Amazing, no?
