Rap is our friend. Avenged Sevenfold DOES suck.

I think I hate Nick Cannon slightly more than I used to, so he's at the top of the suck list right now, along with emo bands. They suck extra hard.

Yeah Avenged Sevenfold sucks big time. A friend of mine let me borrow one of there CD's (I forget which one) but it is rather poor, sloppy riffs, and ass vocals, pass I say.

Avril Laveigne.

She started out as a punk girl. She ended up as a punk girl who honestly can't sing. Drooling I'm tired of singers who can't sing in real life! It defeats the whole point of singing! It's like saying "Look at my great new clothing!" but you're naked!

She is not punk rock.

Neither is Anti Flag, anymore, for the record. When you go to congress and stuff, you're not against the flag.
Jstar136 03-08-2006 09:03 PM
My mistake. I'm out of tune with the past. Though, in this case it's not much of a sin.

Actually, didn't she start out as a failed country singer? What cracks me up is that she's featured on Kidz Bop. Yeah, that's REAL hardcore. </tangent>

One of them was elected to the house of representatives (and if they were elected to the senate thats...pretty bizzare too)? Or...I'm confused here.

A lot of crap has been covered on Kidz Bop

But yeah. She's not punk rock. Everyone who calls or labels themselves as "punk" should try and compare themselves to GG Allin. After failing to have any similarities whatsoever (with Allin being probably the most awesome person to ever live), they should move on.

Which brings me to my next two additions to this fine list:

Switchfoot: Crappy christian rock

and...

BOWLING FOR SOUP! f*** YEAH! ROCK ON!

Some guy did a presentation about them (with their consent and full support) about how they encourage kids not to do drugs and vote in front of some important body of government. Really punk rawk, yo. I bet Bush has a wicked two-step.
Generalissimo D 03-09-2006 12:43 PM
No. Bowling for Soup is awesome. Too awesome for your primitive ears.

Just that awesome.

And I'll have to say the Generic Bands of Today piss me off too. Sex Pistols make me feel like comitting suicide.
Asirt 03-09-2006 01:34 PM
I was never a fan of any Boy / Girl bands (N'Sync, Dreamstreet, etc.), and I also didn't like groups who would have songs that complain about how bad today's society is (Violet Says 5 is the only exception, though).

As you can tell, I'm not really into the "Top 20" music that much. Independent music's where it's at, anyway.

""If you're listening to a rock star in order to get your information on who to vote for, you're a bigger moron than they are. Why are we rock stars? Because we're morons. We sleep all day, we play music at night and very rarely do we sit around reading the Washington Journal."

- Alice Cooper

Also I'd like to preemptively begin hawking bumper stickers for my annual, bi-partisan themed electiontime extravangaza. Suppress the Vote.

(There aren't any bumper stickers really..but...I can write "suppress the vote '08" on a strip of duct tape, and mail it to you if you give me a check)

EDIT: Or better yet. "Suppress the vote '08: Snakes on a ballot"

I don't know who to hate and want to kill more. Nick Cannon for that dumbass show of his, Wild & Out, and for just being Nick Cannon or MTV for giving him the chance and opportunity to have that dumbass show of his, Wild & Out, and giving the public the agony of watching Nick Cannon just being Nick Cannon.

Its really a toss up.

And yeah, today's rap is not our friends. It's no one's friend to be honest. The generic crap about flat brim hats, how many call-girls you have, and drugs and cars is really pissing me off. The only rap I listen to nowadays are Nas, Tupac, Talib Kweil, NWA, and few others. But that's it.

Repeat, today's rap is not your friend.
Peace.

I doubt many of you know him out there, but Dominic from Dream Theater during their When Day and Dream Unite album is quite possibly the worst singer EVER! He was so bad that after the release of that album, he was fired and replaced with an amazing singer.

I just read this from Slamonline.com about Nick Cannon at the McDonald's High School Basketball All-Star Game:

quote:
Just before tipoff, Nick Cannon makes his way to his seat. He's rocking the Diddy-inspired mini-mohawk, and between that and the Ronald McDonald-colorway AF1s, he really and truly does kinda look like a clown. For a guy with a lot of money and a pornstar name, it's a little sad.

I really do not like Nick Cannon.
Peace.

All the rappers involved in ATL.

Hopefully that movie will suck and there will be a backlash against the DURRRTY SOUF.

Good call, Zaphod. Because they all suck. Except Ludacris, whose alright to a certain degree.

We can only hope so and I just read something on the movie 'ATL'. If you've seen the trailers for it on tv, you'd think that it was about two brothers trying to live through life's struggles being on their own and being tempted by quick money and other such materials. But no, the film is really about roller skating in the ATL. Roller skating, as if we didn't get enough the last time from Bow-Wow's 'Roll Bounce'. Didn't see that coming.
Peace.

I enjoyed Roll Bounce, though. Mostly because it double-negative-cancelled-out on quality. And the whole 70's thing.
