yeah, the Striders didn't have the shields of the Tripods... if they did, i'd be still trying to beat teh game. (but the striders have some "hair" and are more obviously bio-mechanical, than the metallic but probably bio-mechanical vehicles.)
about the, quote: "article from an unnofficial newspaper", it sounds like a shoddy review. thus, we can assume it is. to people who haven't seen the movie and do not harbor a homocidal hatred for Tom Cruise, the movie, in my opinion, is great. www.rottentomatoes.com if you wanna see a review, take your pick. (rotten tomatoes is a compounded list of reviews). I frankly don't care about the heritage, or even the behavior of the actor/actress, i care about his or her performence in the movie.

..old as hell, but..

Anything that was turned off wasn't affected by an EMP. So, we have to assume that the guy with the camcorder in the beginning had it off while the electrical storm was going on. As for the television crew.. no one said that the single bolts of lightning caused the power outages. They could've filmed that just moments before the EMP took out the camera. Yeah, and the rest of the movie makes sense, assholes. Feel free to let me correct you on anything.
