That's before all the random characters.

I notice two possible problems. The first is the "5a0" before the headers, which may be preventing your browser from reading them. I'm not sure how it got there, but that could be why the file won't download properly. To solve this, you could possibly try creating a new profile in Firefox, although I'm not sure if that will help. The second is the fact that it is using chunked transfer encoding, which could cause some problems. If this is the cause, there's no real way around it since it is a server-based setting.

...Oi.

Java's f***ing about with my browser.

See those buttons in the standard post editor? They're there...but they dont do anything. I'm having this problem with any and all websites involving javascript.

I can get to yahoo mail, but it forces me to switch to the old fashioned version within 5 seconds of loading.

So yeah. Its only Firefox.

First, make sure JavaScript is enabled under Tools > Options > Web Features. If so, you might want to try creating a new Firefox profile and switching to it to see if that helps. If it corrects the problem, you can copy your bookmarks and other settings from your old profile to your new one, then delete the old one.

Well I make the file just like this to test it

<HTML>
<?php include("file.txt"); ?>
</HTML>

Also I tried some of those news scripts but they're all telling me they cant use the MySQL database. I know I have it.

Here's an odd question concerning Yahoo IM....and the response "ditch YIM and get [insert instant messenger program here]" isn't an option Sweatdrop

For some reason there has been a long time reccuring problem with YIM on my machine Oh Well For the past month or so I've been able to enter a Voice Chat (with multiple contacts) and be able to use my microphone perfectly fine without anything out of the ordinary happening. For nearly 1 or 2 years before this 1-2 month period, just about every time I try to do a Voice Chat my microphone dramatically slows down what it receives and plays it to the other members' speakers as about 250-350% slower. In other words, I'd be speaking normally but everyone in the chat would hear my voice as a deep low growl or roar. O_o I've done tests using Yahoo Voice Chat and my Sound Recorder. In the first test, I would open Sound Recorder, record something, play it back and it would sound normal speed. THen I would open Yahoo IM (not voice chat) and do the same thing as before with the Sound Recorder...normal recording and playback. But when I open a Voice Chat in YIM and then press "Record", the recording occurs almost as if it were "high speed film"...the tab flies across the window at nearly 3X the normal recording rate and when I play it back, it's that low rumbling roar. I then check in Voice Chat, and the other contacts hear my voice as the same low rumble on their ends.

I think the reason behind the recent period of my Voice Chat actually working correctly is because Yahoo IM had upgraded itself to a new version over the summer. I'm unsure of why it reverted back to being screwed up, though. Frown What I want to know is if it is possible to fix whatever is causing this to happen...and if it is possible to fix it, how do I go about doing that?

The file must be in the same folder as the PHP file or else you'll need the whole directory(But I'm sure you guessed that =P). Try removing the (). They are not needed with the include function. I'm not sure if that will work, but PHP always acts up for me when I use too much of the optional stuff.

How fast is your computer and Internet connection? If either one is slow, there may be problems with lag that could cause something like this. If not, you could try updating your sound card's drivers and checking Windows Update for any IE or Windows updates. If all else fails, try uninstalling Yahoo Messenger completely, restarting your computer, then installing it again.

I agree, try Jonny's suggestion first. One more thing to check: Are you sure that the file ends in .php (for example, test.php)? If it ends in .htm, .html, .shtml, etc., it won't parse the PHP code. If it still doesn't work after checking that, you could set up a new FTP account for me on your server and email me the details, and I'll test it for you (you can delete the account afterward, of course).

My computer is pretty fast...and my internet is very fast. I'll try reinstalling YIM tomorrow.
(With the way my luck has been running, don't be suprised if it fails spectacularly. I've been having a very bad week Dead )

Have you updated your sound card drivers and Internet Explorer? If you already have and it still doesn't work, you can try uninstalling again and installing an older version, although it might just update itself to the latest version again afterward...

I have two questions, answering one of them would be fine.

On my xanga page, I want music in the background, but I want the viewer to be able to choose from different songs. I was thinking having a drop down menu where you could choose a song of choice. I found some codes for this kind of thing (ie Darkplayer) but no single one I've found works well. Ideas?

If that doesn't work, I have another idea and thus is my other question.

Is there an HTML code that can randomly pick from either different sets of code? I was thinking if there was a way to either randomly pick a certain code or randomly pick a variable that was equal to some code, then I could have a number of mp3-background-embed codes (along with text to display on the site of what song is playing) set up to be randomly chosen from when the page loads.

EDIT: I have another problem. I recently installed Visual Basic 6.0, and that's all fine and dandy. But today I went to run a program that came with StepMania called smzip that allows one to work with song files and steps and whatever... it was now called a Visual Basic User Control file and set to open w/ VB (which doesn't work now, even if I go to 'Run' while in VB). What can I do to fix this? Tell it to open w/another program, and if so, what one?

You would probably have the best luck with something Flash-based, since it is typically quick to load and has good compatibility (as opposed to using a Java applet or embed/bgsound tags). Try a Google search for flash music player to find some possibilities.

That would definitely require JavaScript. Check here and here to see if they offer anything similar to what you're looking for.

Open Windows Explorer (under Start -> Programs -> Accessories), then on the Tools menu, choose Folder Options. From there, click the File Types tab and scroll down until you find the file type you're looking for. Click the Change button, locate the program you want it to open with (StepMania in this case), check the box that says "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file," and click OK. From now on, it should open with StepMania again.

I need a video editing program that will let me mirror a video. I ripped a flash video that for some reason after ripping was upside down, and mirrored.

I took care of it being upside down, but I can't seem to find a way to mirror, or I guess un-mirror it.

You can accomplish that using VirtualDub. On the Video menu under Filters, click Add and select the "flip horizontally" filter.

Odd thing happened when I was replying to ravenlore's birthday thread.

I accidentally clicked on the 'extended editor' and I got the cursed blue screen of death.

I didn't all of what it said down, but I noted that
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL and vsdatant.sys had something to do with the crash.

I've googled the "driver" part, and haven't found anything that helps, and vsdatant.sys seems to be connected to Zone Alarm Pro.

I did a fresh restart, and tried the 'extended editor' once again, I did not have any trouble this time, so I don't think the crash is connected to it, it just happened at that time.

Using Windows XP Service Pack 2.

Any info you can give me on this and how to fix it, if it's possible, Krang or anyone?

It sounds to me like Zone Alarm is conflicting with your network card drivers. Try updating the drivers and see if it helps. You could also try updating your Java runtime in case the problem was caused by a bug in an older version.
