My computers been beeping. I don't know why...it's like a system check or the beep you hear whenever you turn it on. It beeped twice about a minute after eachother. I was playing a shockwave game when this happend...What would be causeing this....unless it is a system thing. This is the first time that I heard those beeps when it wasn't booting up....

Have any of your key's stuck? computers usually produce a beep when an excess of what I believe to be 4 keys are pressed at any time. Happened alot sometimes when I used to play starcraft.
As for my problem:
I just got my modem for my pending SBC yahoo DSL connection. Worked fine with my desktop(here after reffered to as compy). My laptop(hereafter reffered to as lappy) gives me something weird when I try to wirelessly install it. It says I need a special wireless card/gimmick to let me do it. Now the guy who helped us buy it said I would just have to call the company who made my lappy and they would help configure it. The help I got was how to get my lappy to even acknowledge that such a wireless network existed. However, I cannot proceed with the software installation. Any suggestions?
YAY! Best Buy fixed my computer. They have to replace the keyboard for $150 and fixed the CD drive for free. Apparently they figured out that a glass of water was dumped in it...

If the memory card has enough storage, then yes, it should be possible (the storage requirement depends on what format the PDA expects the video to be in).

In order to set up a wireless connection between your modem and your laptop, you need two hardware devices to bridge the gap: a wireless network adapter for your laptop and a wireless router for your modem. From your description, it sounds like your laptop already has a wireless network adapter, so you'll just need a wireless router. Plug the ethernet cable from the modem to the uplink port in the router, then plug your desktop's ethernet cable into one of the other ports (assuming it's a wired connection). Once everything's set up, both computers should be able to access the Internet.

Look for anything by Linksys or Netgear, as their products are generally reliable and affordable.
I have a Linksys wireless router, I think it was around $80. I believe non-wireless ones are cheaper.

well, for wired routers, i have a D-Link and it was easy to install and works fine. (although occasionally i kick it and it comes out, but oh well)
BOO-YAH! I got my computer back. The CD drive works again, AND the keyboard is fixed. I had to pay for it, though. Also, it runs a bit less-craptacularly than before because it was FILLED with dust. I think it actually feels lighter.

Do you use flashget? That could be it....
In other news. I'm getting weird error messages now. My comp goes to a blue screen and says that some error occured and something about a memory dump. This happened first when I tried out a Project: Snowblind demo and then after I tried to go on AVP2. Now it just happened with yet another program. Any suggestions?

A steady hand. A good mouse. A ton of caffiene. A comfortable right-mouse button. Thats about it. Or you could use whatever system restore crap the manufacturer gave you and reinstall the factory image, leaving only the stuff it came with on. Otherwise, no clue.

It usually does. I say usually because I didnt buy a disc OS upgrade(OEM baby). So back it up somehow. Even if it doesnt balete it all, still backed up In Case of Emegancy[sic].
That was a Tekkaman Blade joke if any caught it.

I'll just wait. I have no way of backing it up as of now.

There's probably still some spyware on your computer that Ad-Aware and Spybot didn't catch. First, update both programs and run them again to see if they catch anything new. Then, download Hijack This! using the link in the first post in this thread and post the log here, and I'll help you remove the remaining spyware.

Try updating your sound and video drivers. After that, run Windows Update to take care of any remaining updates (DirectX, etc.).

Good news! My computer isn't beeping anymore....But.....now it's doing weirder things. Such as things not cuting and pasteing (When you clearly hit Ctrl + C), Things on the internet you have to click twice to get them to go (links and 'go' buttons), and when you don't want to click them, the enter key needs to be hit twice to get them to go too. Then just a little while ago, this window I had up couldn't drop down on the bar....in that I mean no mater how many times you clicked the task bar.....it wouldn't even go down when I hit minimize...but yet it closed just fine....so it wasn't hanging or anything.
I did get these trojans...but it seems that I got rid of all of them (Seeing as how I cleaned out the Temp files like the removal instructions said, I also did a virus scan after I did all of that...and nothing showed.) so I really don't know whats going on....unless I didn't get rid of them....

Make sure you're using the latest virus definitions (most antivirus companies update the definitions at least once a week, if not more often) and do a full scan of all your disks. If that doesn't catch anything, you can also try
Stinger.
