The Wall

Well we didn't have a thered for the movie.....or the album....But lets start with the movie okay.....

It is a good movie. Believe it or not....the first time I seen it was in 2001....I may have been like 12, but I accualy got what it was about! My parents didn't think I could hanndle it, my aunt, when she was younger, was afrade of it. But my mom was still a bit iffy. Until I accualy said "Yes I know what the flowers are." And "yes, I know why the kids were sent into the meat grinder." Then she didn't wory.

Then I come to see this show on VH1 on how this guy didn't get it. and he said you would only get it if you were "stoned". Then I was like then "How did I get it?" I don't know....I guess it's just how I was treated in school, what I wanted to do to my said school, what it felt like being in said school, as well as me being a bit older then my age.....

The animated parts were also good....I still like "goodbye blue sky" though. But all of them are good. and let us not for get the walking hammers Big Grin !

But still it is one of the most influencial Movie (And album) of all time. Though I have no clue as to why Waters is turning it in to a brodway thing.

So talk about it here.....the movie...not the album...that's why I put it in the movie forum anyway.

I remember for awhile VH1 played this movie constantly.
It's really confusing. I think it's about a rock star who becomes a dictator...

Although the marching hammers were bad ass.

I love the album and the movie was very strange indeed.

They cut out some of the wierder parts on VH1.

As far as I can tell its about this rock star played by Bob Gedolf who slowly goes insane by building a "wall" between himself and reality and each of his problems (dead dad, over protective mom, wife, drugs, etc) were all "bricks" in this wall. Although no real story I guess its worth watching at least once if you're a floyd fan. Included were random sexual images, and Nazi like rallys.

....good music though Big Grin

Did you guys hear that the kids who sang back ups on "The Wall" are now suing for royalties?

I heard it this evening on a cable news report. I caught the last minute of it, but apparantly the kids were the choir of an English Academy and their instructor arranged it so they could sing back ups on Pink Floyd's "The Wall."

All these years later, and "The Wall" is the third most successful album in music history (the repoters exact words). Now these former choir singers are claiming they have rights to the profits and are filing lawsuits.

Nah, they settled that, it's part of a documentary on the DVD. They talk about how when the movie got big, the school sued and they were suprised because at the time nobody (school included) had thought about the kids needing any payment.

Anyways, I love that movie. You don't need to be high to get it, that's rubbish (though it does enhance your viewing pleasure, but that goes for anything just about.)

Geez. I'm a hardcore Pink Floyd fan and I've listened to that album 10,000 times and I still don't get some of the stuff. You're good.
