Sunglasses are a necessity—how else would we see properly when outside in the sun without squinting all the time? So, why not have one or two or twenty different pairs to go with different outfits? It just makes sense. And it's fun! Smile

I think [your "Models Wanted" shirt] is once again a display of the grip of Pop Culture [which] says [that] you have to fit a perfect style (what's always current, and also fit a certain physical description).

The fact that I opt to wear fashionable clothes that are from the latest seasons (rather than wearing plain old t-shirts and pants from four years ago) is a personal choice. If I see something that appeals to me, I buy it. Why? Because I like having a wide variety of interesting and unique clothes. I can assure you that I am definitely not one of those people who flips through magazines to be told what I should buy.

More importantly, [your "Models Wanted" shirt] portrays the job of being a Model as the most satisfying profession available.

You couldn't have misinterpreted my "Models Wanted" t-shirt more incorrectly if you tried. Though, how could you have interpreted it correctly not knowing what is printed on the back? On the back of the shirt it has the words "Sarasota School of Photography". So, the shirt (in theory) would actually be worn by the photographer, who is genuinely looking for models. Hence, "Models Wanted". That, of course, has nothing at all to do with Modeling being "the most satisfying profession available". Red Face

Finally, the color effects are reminiscent of the iPod commercials (the shadows with the white earbuds and iPod). While not a perfect throwback, this certainly reminds one of it.

A bit of a stretch, for my taste. Tongue

My apologies for the rant about Pop Culture, but [your] avatar reminded me of it.

Don't apologize. If we can't have meaningful discussions every now and again at PCF, then why are we all here? Wink

Almasy: 9/10
xana_fae: 7.5/10....

Could someone rate this one? It's accualy the cover for Hellsing Volume 7. It's also the only known color verson of Pip....
    xana_fae 01-19-2005 12:15 PM
I really don't like it...it makes your eyes go away from the text when that is what you want to do....try and flip it....it would be better then.....bc you only see their profile it makes the eyes go that way..the avatar that you have now you see a 3/4 of her face and it is also slighly pointed down so that draws the eye to your user info....

Green Bird avatar at question - 10 out of 10

I really like it; it's clear, the border fits well, and the colors are great. No signs of grain or blur either. I think it would look good with your profile. Smile

I'm unsure to what to comment about on the avatars subject, but the image is filled with clarity problems. The text is also a bit constrained and appears tall and squeezed thin. But overall its a unique avatar. Smile

    Xana:

I think I've already rated that one of yours...I'm pretty sure I gave it an
    8/10. ^_^

    Ebie:

The avatar is pretty small, and it's hard to make out the image. But the pink tint is cool, and so is the "sun flare". The border is a bit thick, though.

Almasy- that's an interesting departure for you. The snake's nice, but the bit of green in the background really gives it a punch. Beautiful, crisp, and vibrant colors. I give it a 10.

Dork: Angel, yay! Roger should have ended up with her...
The quality is very good, and I like how she's reflected in the window. Probably the only improvement would be a border of some kind.
    9/10.

GAT-X105: Woot! 10! Great quality. Looks great, and its Samus..... Whats better then that?

Xana_Fae: I've already rated you, but I'd like to up my rating to a 7/10, after having heard the back story behind it. One thing I'd like to add, though, is that the space between "Name" and "Syndrome" is irritating.

    Dingo:

I like the tone, actually. It makes it stick out a lot more compared to other avatars. There's a slight blur, though it's not all too noticeable. There's no border, but I'm debating as to whether or not one would really be necessary.

Overall, a fine job. Rating: 9.0/10

    It's Clint! Big Grin

Now this is a very interesting avatar. The only issue is a minority; it could be a little wider to include his head in it's entirety. Other than that it's very nice. Smile

    Avenir: 9/10

The picture is clear, and it's a very pretty view of the earth

    Fujiko:

A vast improvement to your last one. The previous image was very grainy. This one is too, but I like the change all the same.

However, the grain problem is really major. In fact, if you wish, you can use this:

That one gets a couple of extra rating points, but what you're using right now gets a 4.2/10.

Ahh, using one of the default ones from the gallery, I see.

Generally, Nein creates some good avatars. However, this one is one of his lesser ones. The light behind Big Fau really blurs the rest of the image, and draws the eye away from Big Fau.

So, Nein, if you ever see this, I rate your creation an 8.6/10
