...So there's lube. Big deal.

Now the fact that there was lube and on the computer screen was a post about Kiddy Grade... That's fairly comedic. But not LAWL worthy.

Neat picture, Evan! I like your steam tractor. How far does it go at a time?

It goes a far as the pressure will let it. Usually a lap and a half around the driveway if I get the pressure up to maximum first. Happy On the pavement though the smooth steel wheels sometimes slip...so I'm thinking of adding rubberbands or something around the rims for extra grip.

Nice steam tractor!

Is it operated like a proper one?

It's similar. There's a fuel tray under the boiler and platform where you put Esbit (sp?) fuel tablets. The boiler has a window on it so you can see the water level, but the tricky thing with this traction engine is that in order to empty the boiler, you've got to remove the safety valve and turn it upside down. It's rather messy >_<. Anyways, the steam builds up pressure as normal...when there's enough I turn a little plastic valve for the steam feed to the piston (with valve gearing). It's amazingly efficient. Hardly any steam leaks and after one run there's still lots of water left in the boiler. The flywheel gears down to the drive wheel so that it's a hundred or so revolution to 1 turn of the driver. The traction engine even has a whistle...but the plastic valve handle broke for that, and I need to replace the entire whistle because of it Frown

Sounds good Evan!

Ive seen a OO Gauge train that uses steam power. Costs a lot of money tho Frown

My younger son is a stickler for tradition. Since we went to see Santa in Portland last year with Liz, he wanted to again this year:

Most of my pics are basically for me just screwing around with Photoshop. Here's a few ( 3 ) of my pictures..:

A whole new term to "red eye" in photographs.

I look at this picture, and I can't help but think "Oh, gawd, I think I'm turning emo."

But then I look at myself and think, "Nah. I'm far too happy-go-lucky.. Too carefree, too hyped up on caffeine to be an emo."

I wanted to use Sepia in at least one photo, and I wanted to wear my new Gungrave hat in at least one photo ( even though I don't have the "build" for it. xD )

So, here's that photo.

Wild Wild West, ya'll.
