Man that sitnks haveing your VCR cut off like that. And just when I thought Mokoto couldn't get any hotter. She takes off the leather jacket and yeowsers. Shocked Drooling Drooling Drooling Drooling Who were those two girls that she was with anyway?
Sharpshooter005 12-05-2004 01:44 AM
Nah.

The matrix was a ripoff of alot of stuff, not just Ghost in the shell.

(Which I..unfortunately haven't seen yet.)

I can start to see why the show so many explicit shots of the Major in that show... It's probably the only thing that keeps most people interested in that somewhat boring show. Seriously, does it pick up at all?

You think the anime is explicit? The manga is alot more explicit!

..... I like this show! And we definately called that fanservice in this show early.

I mean she got in her undies and sat on a bed with her roomates I believe just to give us the history of the laughing man.

Although I missed the 4th episode and ep. summaries are breif, I managed to play along with this episode and its definately keeping my interest.

I'm a sucker for all this technology.

There Shirow goes again (the original creator of GITS). The blatentness that has always been in Ghost in the Shell is really annoying and distracting. These suggestive scenes are just unneeded. Even though I've seen both movies, some of the first manga, and am watching the current series, something prevents me from liking Ghost in the Shell. It's a really famous series though, so I always think it might win me over...but no such luck. I just don't find it enjoyable. I'm sure this series will get a little better, but a lot will just be slow talking as far as I'm concerned. I'm patient and love ideas and thinking a lot, but this anime's boring questions aren't interesting enough for one to wrap their head around. Its concept of "ghosts" in robots and such is so old now and overdone. The second movie went to the highest level to knock you over the head with that message...No more! And its never even presented as strongly as other human consciousness/robot series like Rockman X/ Rockman Zero. If not for Togusa and Battaou, GITS would be unwatchable. I'm sick of their old man leader yelling at them. Can't they do anything themselves? Sheeh. I hate to say it, but as of now, Witch Hunter Robin is a more complete package and that was slow and fairly uneventful too.
Sharpshooter005 12-05-2004 09:06 PM
I kind of liked her in the uniform...then again, I thought that episode of lain where her sister wandered around in a half buttoned shirt making modem noises was fanservice. I admit, I'm kind of weird.

Does it explain who the hell those two are in one of the movies? I couldn't figure out how the hell the two girls in the bed related to anything.

I haven't seen the movies but I think they were just there to lounge around homoerotically....

Hey! and did anyone catch that one of the people they were questioning was watching porn on his computer?
BabyGhia 12-05-2004 09:55 PM
This episode was a little more interesting. A lot of talking though.

Getting a little tired of the male fanservice but hopefully the story will outweigh all that... eventually. I'm still going to watch it but it really hasn't grabbed me.

Yes I did, however considering the type of people they were supposedly questioning I wasn't too surprised to see one of them doing that. What was noteworthy about it was that he was blatently doing it while being questioned. One would think someone would put it on pause until the visitors left.

I was more surprised that CN didn't edit the sounds out or something, guess they don't care until someone complains, and they didn't do anything when that mom complained about FLCL.

Yeah, I noticed what he was watching. Wink

I thought her monologue on The Laughing Man was way too long. My husband said he was starting to drop off while watching it and we had to rewind it a couple of times.

I don't suppose the fanservice bothers me too much. I guess I just don't care.

I'm curious to what is going to happen to the guy (name escapes me)who plugged in at the end. Guess I'll have to find out next week.

Yeah, they're just two of Motoko's girlfriends. No real point to their existence save pointing out the Major is bi (she is). I don't recall them popping up again.

As for the guy watching porn. Yeah, I did catch that. Didn't when I watched it subbed a while back though. Maybe I was just paying too much attention to the subtitles. As for him not turning it off, it just goes along with the kind of person he seems to be. He didn't turn away from the screen either.

Good! I'm glad to see I wasn't the only person bored to death by this last episode! I mean, I was beginning to think something was wrong with me because I loved Lain and .hack//SIGN and they're considered slow shows as well, but hearing this reaffirms my faith in my opinion of this show thus far... I thought the whole "special friends" in the bed routine was a little gratuitous and unneccessary... Kinda like that endless love/rave scene in the second Matrix movie...

I'm still trying to figure that one out. Oh Well

Anyway, the whole point is that I'm not seeing what the hype surrounding this show is all about so far and I'm still hoping it gets better (mainly because I've invested too much time into the show thus far for it to not be good).

I've enjoyed the first movie and the TV show so far, but growing up with Star Trek and books had made me pay attention to what people are saying. Funny though, I can't say the same for my math teacher's lectures. Guess I'm just a trekkie at heart. As for the Fanservice, it wasn't necessary, but I've heard rumor of a similar scene in the manga, so it could've been inserted at shirow's request to stay up with the manga. Also, YOWZA! Cool

I bow in admiration to your fellow fandom. I feel the same way about both Trek and GITS:SAC so far. Also Mokoto going into the background of the laughing man was no different really than one of Roger Smith's monolouges.

>_< and I gotta wait untill thursday... *cries*

I'm also in love with this series. Just for the fact that the technology and the story, at least to me, is VERY interesting.

That, and it's a good dessert for Full Metal Alchemist.

Something serious after something flat-out wild and high-adventure.

It reminds me of when they played FLCL and Big O back to back. The complimented each other quite nicely.

It's getting better folks....This episode was really good tonight! Rather confusing about the Laughting man logos on the jacket and little girl's bag. But Then there's that 'misterious' old man.....I have a feeling he'll be back....this episode had no fan service (from what I saw anyway). It was more action then anything.

I kind of liked how the virus worked, some were clameing that they were the laughing man....
