| I liked the "Traffic" movie reference when the kid was talking about making cocaine into little figurines. |
Good to see I'm not the only one who immidiatley though of traffic when that scene came on.

Two of a kind, Sharpie. That's the first thing that came into my mind. Now if they had a parody of a Don Cheadle character in this episode, we'd be set.
Anyway, here's a question. Who's that guy in the glasses that was standing next to the kid at the end of the episode? The kid was looking at him as though he was a source of reassurance and I'm just thinking that maybe (maybe down the line?) that he'll wind up again later on in the series.
Peace.

On an unrelated note, if anyone wants any specific scans from the manga, feel free to ask.
I'm planning on scanning the page where Boma takes the murdur weapon car to get scrapped like in the end of the "Trial" episode for creepy comparisons.

I agree completely with this comment. I also agree with the fact that most of the characters are battle-hardened and cyberized. But still, it'd be nice to have a little more humanity in the human-element. I'm not a stickler for character-drama, but I'd like a little more characterization in this plot-driven show.
I've said it during season 1 - Motoko as a character is basically a dude in a hot female body. Not that women can't be tough as nails and unemotional. But they're still human.

Yeah, I read about that third season the other day. I'm happy to hear about it, but I'm more interested in finishing the second season first. Let's just hope it doesn't go Inuyasha on us though.

That's cool as hell, a third season of Ghost in the Shell. More overworded but brilliant dialogue, more guns, and more technological warfare. I love it!
And also, InuYasha and Ghost in the Shell should never be mentioned in the same sentence. In this point in time, its such an insult to GitS, even though I'm a fan of InuYasha.
Peace.

Well 2nd season ends pretty conclusivley, but just like the first season even though the immediate conflict is over, the events cary over and affect what happens in the next season.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Solid State Society, a full length movie based on Ghost in the Shell Stand Alone Complex is currently planned for completion in the summer of 2006.
The production announcement does not specifically state release format, or date. The movie is being produced in Hi-Vision, a format used by Japanese broadcast networks to support wide-screen televisions. The same production team, including main staff, will be carried over from the TV series. The budget, while not specified, is said to be higher in order to achieve a cinematic level of production.
The 100-minute (tentative running time) movie takes place in 2034, two years after the refugee riot incident. A significantly larger Section 9, with over 20 new officers, investigates terrorist actions related to a wizard-like hacker “Kugutsu Mawashi.”
(Kugutsu Mawashi translated into English is roughly "Puppet Master." Kugutsu Mawashi is not the same as the "Puppet Master" from the first Ghost in the Shell Movie. In Japanese, the "Puppet Master" from the first movie was called "Ningyo Tsukai" which can also translated into "Puppet Master.")
The production committee will comprise Production I.G., along with Bandai Visual, Bandai Entertainment, Dentsu Corporation, Nihon TV Broadcasting (NTV), Manga Entertainment, Tokuma Publishing, and Victor Entertainment. |

Awesome. I love the series and wish I could catch it more often like I could the first season. I can't wait for the movie.

Well I only saw the normal version that aired at the usual time.
I totally forgot about AS pulling pranks on April Fools. Thus I missed out on all the gas.
As for the episode itself, I was fooled by the girl's handicap much like Batou was. I thought that she couldn't walk and wondered what those cameras on her chair could be for. After discovering that she was blind and not crippled it all made sence.

This episode was sort of ominous.
I'm hesitating to call this character development for Batou. B/c it's not really anything mind blowing. The overall episode was not as good last week's episode.
The girl tricked me! There was really only one hint pointing to her disability.

I didn't really like this one, I thought last week's was better. And also, I saw the non-fartin' version and the fartin' version and I didn't think that it worked that well. Ghost in the Shell doesn't exactly have too many moments where you have farting opportunites.
Anyway, while the farting was pissing me off something fierce, I realized how damn good the animation in Ghost in the Shell is. Just as shots of the snow falling and then changing all of a sudden, the shots of the city of Berlin from the sky, the agents using the invisbility feature, and even when Batou was pulling the drawers open. Just brilliant cinematography and animation.
Anyway, yeah, the girl got me too. She was blind and she could walk. And "Angel-Feathers" is a kickass terrorist name and Batou said that things are getting back at Japan are getting worse with the refugee situation so I hopin' things will step up soon.
Peace.

A new episode tonight!
I'm happy to say it's much better than the previous ones.
I'm totally confused by this episode, especially with the Major screwing up and all.
Someone please help me!
