About the Major (Motoko, wish they'd call her that more): I think the wristwatch has something to do with that, and giving us a clue on her current circumstances. (Watch the very end again.)
Lots of good action. I don't know if any of the Section 9 characters are officially dead (besides what they show of the Major). The bald guy with the bionic eyes was off-panel, so we don't know. And Paz (not mentioned above) was captured at that bar when he dropped off the cigarette/microchip.
Great to see the triumphal return of the Tachikomas (sp?) - although it was short-lived. I think they did that on purpose to examine the issue if they can "die" or not.
Next episode (the last of season 1?) should be pretty good - hope to see everything come together with the Laughing Man and the corrupt gov't agencies.

Yeah I hear she wasn't wearing it.
Fake remote body?

That's what most of the fankids are hoping...that she put her old prosthetic body (the one that got beat up by the exoskeleton) to good use as a decoy
and my poor sweet Tachikomas!!! they loved Batou so much!

Good point. Since theres a VERY deliberate shot of her wrist at the very end, I'd assumed it was going to show the watch, but that went over my head I suppose.

It was at the least a reference to the 1st movie. It'll be interesting to see how they get out of this one. And where's Togusa?

According to summeries he has been in the slammer ever since this whole manhunt started. You could say he was the first one captured right in front of Aramaki. Word has it they let him go at teh begining of the next episode sans badge and gun.

I think the shooting of the Major was a ruse. They show her wrist and no watch. And also the fact that Batou called the Major by her real name instead. He never calls her by her real name throughout the series. And the fact that we know she is in next series.
Good ep. It was nice to see the Tachicomas and what the Major realized. Sorry they were all destroyed but, at least, the last three helped save Batou. It's so amazing how much they really wanted to protect him. The Major realizing that she made a mistake about them.
Oh! And I did find the whole underwear drawer thing hilarious. Too bad Batou didn't realize. He would have enjoyed that.

But interesting place to keep your stash of weapons.
Next ep should be good.

And then he gets a job in the food service industry! Hooray.
I wish that the TV show and movies had more of the silly comedy that the manga had. I was thinking about the part where Togusa goes to see a shrink when his daughter's doll creeps him out. I stil think they've drawn him slightly differently these past few episodes.

I think you're better off just waiting for the show to start over.

I'm not worried about the Major. If you noticed after the sniper got Kusanagi with a headshot, when they showed her hand that she wears her watch on... there was no watch.
Kusanagi LIVES! She's in her other body, and she was piloting her normal body as a drone! She did not tell Batou I bet so he could sell that she was dead.
What a smart little cyborg. And now, she is. |

Just so I'm clear, Saturday is the last episode right.
I won't really be around a t.v. next weekend, and..yeah, theres few shows I'm mildly neurotic about missing episodes of, and I suppose this is one. (well its basically just this and 24. Deadwood they repeat like..50 times a week, so it's acceptable if I somehow manage to pass out around 9 when they first run the new episodes.)

Hmm, well I haven't watched this show but I had it on in the background and I heard something interesting. There was the scene between the Major and that guy (sorry don't know the names) and I thought I was listening to Cowboy Bebop for a second since the two characters are voiced by the same people who do Julia and Spike, respectively.
Just thought it was interesting.

Whoops, looks like I'll need to wait till 3.
Now to avoid this like the plague till then (I'd wind up reading any spoiler posted, just out of habit)

It has been a while since I posted here....mainly because I didn't have much to say or someone alredy said what I was going to say. But I have desided to come back and comment on the final episode of season 1. I will also edit the title of thread to acomadate the 2nd GIG aswell so people don't make another thread seeing as how they're the same series just diffrent seasons.
It was a well orgastrated plot if you think about it. I mean First leting Togusa get cought and then letting everyone who were more cyberized fend for themselves and regroup.
I think everyone has been drawn diffrently lately...I've seen screen shots and pictures from the 2nd gig and it looked a little diffrent. And Was it just me or didn't Togusa look (ironicly) like anime Alucard (last episode the part where
| spoiler (highlight to read): |
| the lighting flashes and he is show and the anime Dracula for a second or two. |
from that part) in that one section before Batou stept in....I don't know could have been just me.

haha Like this one.
Although it was more of an epilogue type episode.
I like togusa, the mans an underdog and seems to always get the butt end of the stick. That whole begining part with him pretending to be the laughing man was pretty interesting.
And the book he threw was the catcher in the rye.
Anyway the fact that armaki set up the whole section 9 deal and that the major used a remote body weren't such huge revelations.
But I liked the fact that they saluted aramaki, it shows that some still know and appreciate what he and section 9 really do.
Anyway all that quoting and talks of stand alone complexs went a bit over my head, but I think I caught the jist of it.
EDIT: about the characters looking different, I think togusa looked a bit different becuase he has been sitting and brooding for 3 months, and some 2nd gig pics of the major look wierd becuase she wears a smoothed out wig in an early episode.
Double Edit: Did the pull off the 'ol carbomb on the long haired guy?
