Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith *warning, may contain spoilers*

I think they have to show Darth Vader (if only for a moment or two) in the upcoming movie, for this reason alone: continuity purposes. You cant go from movie #3 without some hint or slight explanation/result that the Emperor has started the empire. Remember, in A New Hope, the beginning writeup mentions "The Galactic Empire"...well, at this point in the Prequel Trilogy, the galaxy is still some semblance of a Republic, granted, the Clone Wars are taking their toll, each planet is still represented through the Senate. Palpatine hasnt absolved the Senate, nor has he taken full control yet.

Yeah, but in ANH, the absolvation of the senate is mentioned during that meeting of the Imperial commanders aboard the Death Star, so we might not see that.

We don't REALLY need to see Vader to know that the Empire has replaced the Republic.

We just need to see Palpatine say something, possibly to Yoda, like "The pathetic Republic is no more! I am the EMPEROR!"

And then shots of Star Destroyers being built, AT-ATs walking around and whatnot.

Sorry...spoiler time...

spoiler (highlight to read):
I think Anakin (from what Ive heard) starts the mass extermination of the Jedi. Supposedly he storms the Jedi Temple and starts taking out Jedi left and right...and that Obi-wan is the last one who confronts him over his "turn to the dark side." Of course, mayhem ensues and Anakin falls into his accommodating lava pool, complete with whirlpool jets and steam bath. At that point, Sidious (Palpatine) brings him out of his bath, and we have Vader....

Yeah, that's the same thing I heard.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Personally, I'd rather see Anakin take out the Jedi...that way, it allows Vader's rise at the end of the movie to be the ending (which I think would be the perfect end, in my opinion), but with the Jedi purging having already finished or, at the very least, begun.

And I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm itching to see Sidious kick ass with his lightsaber...reportedly, he and Yoda go to battle at some point, and if that's true...

Yeah, it's about time Sideous shows us how he earned the "Darth."

Now, I am hoping that is how it doesn't end.

Spoilerized for all those who don't know how Vader came to power

spoiler (highlight to read):
Vader killed all of the Jedi. He hunted down every one, with the exception of Obi-Wan, Yoda, and a few others. So I am hoping they show him doing that in the movie, though if they do, it will have to be either close to or at the end.

Yeah, sorry my love but I do belive Hienrich Ele is right. I've already heard rumors about battles between Vader and the Jedi, so if those are true we'll be seeing Vader whup some ass in the movie.

God I hope those rumors are true.

Oh no! I think that came off wrong! I would be disappointed if that's how the third movie ended just because I'd feel cheated that we were to just assume that Vader killed off the Jedi. But if there are rumors that those battles are in the third movie, then I proudly stand corrected Big Grin

I'm really hoping that Lucas takes the time to cover the extinction of the jedi. I'm just wondering how he's going to compile all that information and chain of events into one nice Ep III package. He has a ton of ground to cover for just one movie!

In any event, I'm so going to the midnight showing Big Grin

Yes, Samuel L. Jackson said he didn't mind getting killed, as long as it wasn't in some pansy-assed way. Thus Vader must be the one to take him out.

Yeah the trailer gave me a heart attack!!! May 19 seems so far away.....like in some sort of galaxy that's far, far away....

Did anyone else get goosebumps when Anakin turned his head and we saw his red eye?? *shiver*

Anakin's eyes!

"YES MASTER"........ "RIIIIIIISE!"

muahah that was the part that gave me goosebumps.

and then the lava planet...... the entire prequel series can either be redeemed or forever condmened with the Final Light sabre battle to end all light sabre battles.

Obi Wan Vs. Anikan , that battle that births Darth Vader!

Lucas CANNOT screw it up or he will have his ranch suicide bombed by starwars nerds.

YES, YES, YES!!!!!

Total shivers everywhere. I am sooo putting this on my calendar. I've seen most of the movies on the first day and I don't plan on stopping now. This is 28 years in the making. I'm ready already!

Well here is a trailer for Episode III: Revenge of the Sith THE VIDEO GAME

http://lucasarts.com/ep3/

It shows some cool scenes that could be in the movie.(That's if the game actually coincides with it.)

I posted it here instead of the game forum because I figure it'll make us want the movie even more.

Holy crap. One scene that looked like it could be in there is Anakin fighting dooku in front of palpatine. Just like luke does in return of the jedi.

Pretty interesting.

That looks really awesome...

Really really awesome... Especially the parts on the ship with all the other stuff going on in the background...

Oh, and I saw the movie trailer... This movie is going to own... Unless it doesn't (damn you Lucas!!)

See, Ive heard that Sidious takes him out. But Ive also heard that Anakin does it as well.

Let me clarify...

Supposedly, Mace and a group of Jedi confront Palpatine over his manipulative actions in the Senate, and they realize he's the Sith Lord the Jedi have been looking for. At that point, Anakin is his "bodyguard" or pupil and is at Palpatine's side during the confrontation. I think Anakin at that point has to choose, Jedi or Palpatine. If that goes as said, Anakin takes out Mace.

But Ive also heard that Anakin doesnt duel Mace, and that its Palpatine who kills him, during the same confrontation.

Interesting to see what happens....

On a side note...I really hope they dont end the movie with Anakin emerging in the Vader suit. At that point, if it ends that way, everything is implied from the stories Obi-wan Kenobi told Luke in A New Hope. I hope they show some start to the Jedi purges by either Anakin or Vader...either way, that would help corroborate the story (from a certain point of view...) that Vader hunted down and exterminated the Jedi. If there is no "hunt" and the Empire hasnt started its reign, I may have a big problem with how Lucas ends the 3rd movie and how the story fits together.

I just watched both trailers (again) no matter how many times I see them I'm put intoo a complete state of awe. I'm listening to "Duel of the Fates" right now(best star wars fight song) and I see just Anakin rising after being knocked down by Obi-Wan, and just looking evil and charges with a flurry of evil Lightsaber moves. Goosebumps all over!

Not really, I think that pic was from a magazine a while back.

I'm really wondering what the deal is with this grevious individual.

All they know is that he he a lizard alien with a cyborg body who commands the seperatist droid armies, uses 4 lightsabres, and kills jedi.

One of the wierder theories is that he is Darth Maul from episode 1 rebiult, explaining his ability with the lightsabre, sort of echoing the vader transformation. But many people claim that would be an enourmously lame development.

Otherwise he is just some new random character lucas decided to throw in.
StevieV019 01-08-2005 02:48 AM
Have you all watched the Clone Wars cartoon created for Cartoon Network?

I think Grievous is actually the bounty hunter Durge only with an armor upgrade... Could be mistaken though...
