Anakin is sooo emotionally immature and reacts over the top most of the time during his Padawan and Jedi Knight days that it can kind of be understood, being that thats his first reaction to hearing about Padme. However...at that point, with him being so immersed in the dark side, you'd think he wouldve spurned his emotional immaturity

Ever since he met the Jedi Council, Anakin was told he was the Chosen One. That's a lot of pressure for a child to deal with, especially when Jedi Masters like Yoda and Mace pubically doubt his identity and belittle his accomplishments. Obi-Wan, instead of teaching Anakin wisdom, criticizes him for his actions, even though his actions often produce positive results. Up until Episode III's confrontation between Palpatine and Mace, Anakin tried to make the Jedi proud, but they shunned him at every turn.

I was watching Pulp Fiction (for..the fifth or so time) last night, and all I could think of is how the prequels would be if Mace had jeri curls, and would periodically stand up during the Jedi council scenes and scream "WHAT AIN'T NO SYSTEM I EVER HEARD OF, THEY SPEAK BINARY IN WHAT?" at people.

...Or...wait...binary was a language in those movies, wasn't it? I can't even remember now.

They went terribly wrong with Padme in the movie. She was hot in Episode I when she was shooting people. I always liked can-do babes with blasters. In Episode III, thousands died in the Great Mascara Floods. She didn't do much more than cry.

Just finished sawing it.

I was impressed in parts, and dissapointed in others.

First off, the fight with Yoda and Sidious was freaking cool.

spoiler (highlight to read):
And the part where Yoda just took out two Royal Guards with a wave of his hand

Obi-Wan Vs. Anakin was better than I expected. Truly the second best fight in the entire saga, second to Vader Vs. Luke.

Yoda was great, I loved how he stabbed people left and right.

spoiler (highlight to read):
R2-D2 can light people on fire!? Why didn't he do it to the ewoks when they captured them?

Padme... Well...

spoiler (highlight to read):
Let's just say I wasn't shedding any tears when she 'gave birth' and, you know...

Couldn't stand the scenes with Anakin and Padme.

spoiler (highlight to read):
The Count Dooku fight was pathetic. It was over so fast. I though Count Chocula- I mean Dooku, was supposed to be super cool and strong. Not like, BAM, hands gone and the BAM, head gone

Space battle was cool. No, it was 'Friggin' Sweet!'.

Overall, better than the previous two prequals, still not as good as the original triology.

spoiler (highlight to read):
Yes, Obi-Wan DOES praise Anakin, but it that usually comes after he corrects him. A student doesn't hear that after he's been reprimanded.

When Anakin goes to Yoda seeking advice about his premonititons, Yoda tells him to accept fate and let go of the ones he's lost and will lose. This isn't what Anakin want's to hear. He's looking for a way to save Padme.

Mace never trusted Anakin. Anakin told Mace about Palpatine being the Sith Lord, and Mace thanks him by ordering him to stay in the Jedi Temple while he and other Jedi Masters go arrest Palpatine. Anakin begs Mace to let him come along, but Mace says to the effect "If Palpatine is the Sith Lord maybe I'll trust you."

Anakin follows Mace's order, but his concern to keep Padme alive makes him follow Mace and the Jedi Masters. When he arrives at Palpatine's office, he finds Mace with his lightsaber standing over a defenseless Palpatine. To Anakin it looks like the Jedi are indeed overthrowing the Republic. Anakin pleads with Mace to arrest Palpatine, and that execution isn't the Jedi way (he does regret killing Dooku). Mace orders Anakin to stay back. As Mace goes for the coup de grace, Anakin shouts "I need him alive!" and cuts off Mace's arm, giving Palpatine the opportunity to fry Mace. After that, Anakin knew he had betrayed the Jedi and crossed over to the Dark Side.

According to IMDB, it's rumored Jackson had "BMF" engraved in the lightsaber he used in episode II.

I can just see it now. Sam Jackson goes to Palpatine and says, "And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my jedi brothers. And you will know my name is The Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon thee."

But then again, vengeance and anger lead to the dark side, so you wouldn't see that...

(Please don't warn me. I was unaware of the lack of swear filters in the title/subject lines. I apologize.)

Re-live the final moments of Ep III over and over!

Darth Vader is ALIVE

All I have to say about Star Wars III is I went to the premiere, and got in lightsaber fights. It was badass. I was rocked.

We took this guy 4 on 1. He defeated us. I have the red lightsaber, I ripped my cloak off prior to this fight (after my friend used The Force to knock me over).

So I'm going to see the movie tonight after dinner with some friends; hopefully it'll be good! ^_^

Well, I went to see it this afternoon and I have to say that it was.... TOTALLY AWESOME. Aside from the Anakin/Padme scenes it was suprisingly good. Oh, and that Vader "No" scene was hilarious. I started laughing hysterically. Everyone in the theater was slightly disturbed.

Yoda and Mace Windu are officially my favorite Jedi, as they were amazing. Yoda actually cut someone's head off! That was totally awesome. The fight between Palpatine and Mace was great too.

My only other qualm, was Grievious' lack of a major role. He was killed off way to quickly, as he was easily the coolest villain of the film. Next to Grand Moff Tarkin. Even though he was in only one scene, he stole the show. (Don't ask me why)

Oh and, did anybody else notice that Yoda's use of the passive voice became more extreme in this movie.

I actually dug the Vader "nooo" at the end. Raising his hands into the air is better than just standing there and screaming looking like a complete lunatic. I just think him breaking through the shackles should have been harder.

And as small a part as Grievous was...come on, admit it. When he went x4 and starting buzz-sawing the floor, THAT WAS FREAKING AWESOME Cool

All in all, it was great. Best of the PT, ranks among the OT. When it was over, I just had this feeling, that this movie was just plain totally different from episodes I and II. Everything about it just seemed different.

That is the second best Star Wars story I have ever heard... The first being the time a bunch of guys in Mandalorian armor stole my friends box of cookies at DragonCon... He too has photographic evidence...

I saw it yesterday with a couple of my friends and all I can say is "I give this movie a 5 out of 5" I can't believe I actually started the finale clap.
Almasy 05-21-2005 11:36 PM
Well I just got back from seeing it...

It was alright. Although, it was definitely the best out of the newer Star Wars movies. My favorite is still ROTJ, I think.

My favorite character in this movie was definitely General Grievous. I kept reading all these things like, "He had such a small part!" and "All he did was cough and run away!" but when I actually saw it he was in much more of it than I expected him to be, and he had quite a few number of cool fight scenes. And I liked the fact that he kept running away to save himself, because that's what I (and anyone with any sense) would do.

The dialogue and acting was absolutely abysmal, with the exception of Ian McDiarmid, Christopher Lee, and Ewan McGregor (though even Ewan had his crappy moments). The sad part is, last night I watched "Shattered Glass" on TV starring Hayden Christensen, and in that movie he was fantastic! So the writing/dialogue and ultimately George Lucas are most certainly to blame.

There were many moments I enjoyed, such as the fight between Mace Windu and Palpatine, the fight between Yoda and Palpatine (I loved it when Palpatine kept hurling down those platforms), and of course all the fights involving General Grievous. It's a shame there hadn't been more Darth Vader (in costume) action...in fact there really wasn't much at all. Though I suppose that's why the original trilogy is so much more superior to the prequals.

Overall I felt the movie was way too long, and that they tried to cram far too much into it. It felt like there were 1,000 different scenes, yet each one only lasted for 30 seconds, if that. Though, like I said, it's definitely the best out of the prequals. If I had to rate it...I'm really not sure. I think I would give it a 6 out of 10. Maybe more. Maybe less.

I just have one more thing to say:
