I am, from this point on, no longer against Season 3. Without new episodes of Big-O not a lot of Big-O discussions go on here(At least, not ones that strike my interest) And I am not exactly an "Anime Fan".
And no, I am not changing my opinion because I want this place to be more interesting. I am starting to lose my interest in Big-O altogether. I feel the need for more of it. Season 2 wasn't as good as Season 1 because it had to develop the story a lot more. Now that that is done, they will be able to make Season 3 as good as Season 1. Hell, it'll still be Big-O anyway. I can adapt. Besides, if I was not a Big-O fan anymore this place would be without its rudest member. Who would be here to tell you that you are idiots?
So, yeah. Save Big-O.

Well, it took you long enough, mutter.
Just kidding. Welcome aboard. It takes a big hedgehog to admit they were mistaken

Funny thing... I was about to start a post like this. I no longer want a season three. Having all of the DVD's, I've watched it all, and am actually quite pleased with the ending. There were a few odd's and end's here and there, but it was actually a genius, artful ending. Plus, it takes a real artist to let such a great series go. At least it wasn't dragged out like Inuyasha....
Still, it went out with unparalled grace, and I think it's fine. Not that I would mind more.... but would it be as good?

Odds and ends? More like huge tomato-headache inducing questions, such as 'Is Paradigm even real?'. I do like the way season two ended, but I am eager to see more.

I agree with this 100%. But 26 episodes get boring after I've seen them so much. I need more.

Odds and Ends?! @_o
I liked the way season two end, it was a fantastic season finale. And in a pinch it makes for a horribly incomplete, yet some what satisfying ending. At least they finally resolved that whole love triangle thing ::does chair happy dance::
But I want to know what Paradigm is, yeah yeah yeah, there's been plenty of theories and who knows, perhaps one or two of them are right, but I want to see Konaka's ending.
I have to think that anyone who thought act 26 was a logical conclusion to the series just isn't paying enough attention.

The words Act 26 and logical should be kept as far away from each other as possible

Hmm at least you're being a bit more rational.
Big O is going to always be written by the same guys so its always going to have that same tone.
And since we really have nothing to lose, we really can't do anymore damage.

There's obviously a method to the madness. There are recurring patterns that imply underlying causes. But we can't see the causes themselves.
For example, Alex Rosewater believed that he could remake the world somehow if he had a fully functional Megadeus and used it to unleash destruction on the city. And this delusion of "godhood achieved through destruction" was shared by most of the villains in the show (with the notable exception of Beck). Vera, Giesang -- even Eugene, I think. It's as if they had a hazy recollection of Big Venus recreating the world in the midst of its destruction.
We still don't know why the last cycle started with amnesia, or why Angel appeared as a child with few memories (and those fake) many years after the Event -- or answers to ANY of the really basic questions. We can only guess. Nothing has been wrapped up except for the death of Alex and Vera -- and those might not be permanent. They might reappear as Roger, Sybil Rowan, Dan Dastun, and Angel seem to reappear. And we know that Angel is on the right side, now, and that Roger and Dorothy are inevitably going to get together. But we don't know the answer to any of the MYSTERIES.

You know, they did have more ideas. I've heard that they had megadeus designs that could be used for a season3. They have the ideas, the megadeuses...all they need is the $$$ and us telling them to go ahead an make it!

for a realistic point of view on teh furure of Big O as a cartoon series
It may take a while for season 3 to come out, remember how long season 2 took?
However . . .
Pressure for an interlude of episodes (3 or 4) to give us a glimpse of paradigm City after the great (non)battle of the Bigs just might yeild results. An explanation of how dorothy survived without her hard drive memories. As well as what happened to Beck, Angel, and the Rosewaters during this pardigm shift and where they are now. Perhaps Big Duo can come back as a leviathan or behemoth type creature thus advancing the reset subplot. The biggest question mark would be Schwatzvalt, or will he remain dead? And Seebauch, will he be reporting the news again, or will he have a gravestone?
But one thing should be for sure, Normon will have dinner ready by the time Roger gets back to his home.

I officially call anything cool that comes outta the proposed season three in my name in the MFL.
But anyway, on topic. Good to see you on our side of things, Axehandle...
I will admit to have momentarily thought this thread was about the election

While I wouldn't mind more- I don't exactly want it either. Call me skeptical if you like, but I don't think a season three could top the genius of the current ending. Still, I realize that there are possibilities that I have ignored. Not that it would be bad- for all I know, it may be great.....but that's not a chance that I'm personally willing to take. Still, it's up to the people, so I suppose my single opinion isn't so significant after all

The thing is, if you dislike the Season Three that gets made, you don't have to purchase it or watch it

There were so many hints to possible future storylines, and I really want to see where they go with it.
Of course they could fall flat. They also could do the best season of all. If they don't make it, we'll never know!

Ah the genius of everything being erased.
And Zola's right, season 3 could be Awesome or it could be "Godfather 3".
Either way we have nothing to lose.

Hey, at the very least we get more footage of Roger talking with Steven Blum's voice ::blisses out:: ahh. . .
