Coincidentally, there is a river here in NY called the HUDSON! Holy Sh**!! Tongue

anyway, just sittin here still tryin to figure out whats the deal with this damn show.

Yes...Paradigm City has been concluded to be New York City. The style of the buildings (especially in 'Roger the Wanderer'), the subways, JFK Mark (John F. Kennedy Airport), Coney Island, seen buried beneath sand in 'Leviathan...'

There are also a few arial scenes of Paradigm which shows that it is located on Manhattan Island...

The reason for the same voices is because the same voice actor plays each character...

And we're not being mean, just pointing something out to you...Smile )

And all this time...I thought it must be Santa Fe.

On the official Japanese site, it says explicitly that Paradigm City used to be called New York City, though its residents do not know its history.

I think David Lucas was only Roger's VA for part of the series, though. Not the whole thing.

Hey, if you want to complain about how someone's voice is everywhere, complain about Angel. She's been in just about every anime imaginable. That's because Wendee Lee kicks ass (and has a sexy voice!).

Actually, to a certain extent, that is something that is expected of you. As others before me have mentioned, this topic has been brought up many times before. When you want to post something, please make sure that you do a search next time for similar threads that could have possibly been discussed in the past.

Steven Blum is David Lucas. (Or was that vice versa?) In any case, they don't have two guys with remarkably similar voices doing Roger.

Yes and no. David Lucas & Steven Jay Blum are the same person. It has to do with acting guilds & whatnot. But the same person did Roger's voice throughout. He sounded a bit different in Roger the Wanderer, but he was just getting back into the character after 3 years at that point. Other characters got a change in VAs between the two seasons, though. Norman being the most obvious.

And what's with the complaining about him doing a lot of voices? That's almost like complaining about a live-action actor being in a lot of movies. It's what he does for a living. A lot of animes have essentially the same casts because they're dubbed by only a few recording studios. Voices tend to get reused a lot. Sometimes live-action films can be the same way, if a particular director has a small stable of stars that he uses like a repetory company. Back in the old days of Hollywood almost all actors were under contract to one studio or another and so they appeared over and over again the way VAs seem to today. It's just the way things are.
