Text from Books and Newspapers

Everyone put down what you can read from books, newspapers, documents, and anything else with words on it from Big O. I'll start with the upper right corner article from Act 14.

Yeah. O_o It said "Dutch Concern" then "LONDON, somedateorother". (Forgot the date ) Maybe Big Ear is actually a cockroach in disguise and survived nuclear holocaust with his 100 year old newspaper...

I think its either gibberish made by japanese people to look like english, or they just copied some random article that had nothing to do with big o.

Only the headlines mean anything in the series. The text is always meaningless, except for the comics in "Roger the Wanderer" which you _can_ read. But they're not terribly important, either. It's either random English words (Engrish) or articles pasted in. In fact, I remember a thread on here a while ago in which someone found the text of one of the articles using the Lexis-Nexis news database. It was from USA Today in 1999, IIRC.

I don't have down what it says, but in a previous topic people zoomed in on the criminal records for Giseng, only to find it was really a biography of Nicola Tesla.

Tesla was the one who made AC electricity a phathomable idea and invented the AC motor, Teslacoil and other fun stuff.. If it weren't for him, we'd have Edison powerstations every other neighborhood block making DC power.. Tesla tried to create wireless electricity, and also tried to make a DeathRay when his career started to crumble.

I know this is an old thread but does anyone know what the opener papers say?

Just a bunch of clippings about jazz and the people that play it. In German and English...

I don't see any importance in them, they just add to the show's feeling of the era...

I was watching my newly purchased first season DVD colection when I noticed in the intro that some of the newspapers were in German. I have also caught glimpses of German in the papers that Big Ear reads. We all know that German is firmly rooted into TBO (i.e. Schwartzwald), but German newspapers?
