Live action Evangelion

Anybody heard how the live action Evangelion movie is comming along? I haven't heard anything about it since that one sheet ad in whatever magazine that was came out.

Nope, haven't heard much. All I've heard is that Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) is involved somehow - like a special effects company he works with or something.

Someone know more about this?

Peter Jackson? If he's directing, then it's in good hands. See 'Heavenly Creatures' in his ability to deal with the same type of characters.

Gary Busey as Fuyutski. Not gonna happen, therefor, Im skeptical.

I actually did some research on it a while back....WETA..the team responsible for the effects in LOTR will be supporting this film...there were some design pics floating around...in fact i printed up a rough copy of it a while back and it looked sweet as hell. Ill see if I can pick up some more info on it.

Oh, darn. Then there may be little hope. ^_^

Yes... I was about to go insane over that. P.J. is not doing Eva, just WETA.

And that brings in two very big things for me... My top two favorite things... The best anime ever, NGE, and the best movie/book ever, LOTR. Well... Not LOTR directly. Just the SFX studio. But when I first heard all about this whole NGE and WETA thing, I couldn't help but draw this...

Somehow, with my twisted, little brain of mine, I made a connection between Eva and LOTR through WETA. Heh-heh. Just goes to show how messed up I am because of these two things.

But enough of that nonsense! My friend brought her NewType magazine to school one day, and it had two pages full of concept art for the live-action Eva. Dude! It was far cooler than I thought. Now I'm slightly less skeptical about the whole idea of a live-action Eva.

Ooooooo someone who has the Newtype magazine...I don't suppose you could scan some pages...could ya Smile pleeeeeeeeeassse lol

Twas my fortunate friend's magazine, not mine. At a near $100 for a one-year subscription, Newtype is far out of my reach, as well. *sigh* But I bet if you did some digging, you could find those pictures on the web.

Peter Jackson?!? What makes him such a good director becauce of Lord of the rings? if he directs, the movie is going to be boring and have nothing but close ups of people's faces. Tim Burton on the other hand would make a great director for an eva movie if they just let him do his own thing with it.

Whaaa!? Another live action anime!? Whats next, Cowboy Bebop!?

:edit: Picture was kinda big so I'll make it a link instead...

I prefer 'Heavenly Creatures' (early-mid-90's). It gets surreal at times, that's why I thought he'd make a good director.

A live action Cowboy Bebop? Could be good, depending on the cast and director.

I heard their making a live action Lupin Movie and ive seen previews for the devilman and the cutey honey movies. I also remember hearing a long time ago that Will Smith and Jim Henson prodictions were going to be part of a live action Astro Boy movie and that Nicholas Cage was going to have some involvment (prolly producing) with a Speed Racer film.
