Hey, everybody. This is Nine XXVI and this is the start of the first ever (and hopefully not last) Academy Animated Awards.

• Note: I've changed the Best Costume Design award to the Best Character Design. I thought it over and thought that more is put into the design of the character and what their costumes will be in the result of the completion of the character design, and not just what the stand alone aspect of what the characters are wearing. So, this is now the Best Character Design Award and Samurai Champloo is still recognized as the 2005 winner.
  

When it comes to anime, I'm a sucker for the old 'Warring States era, Feudal Japan times" clothing such as Samurai Champloo and InuYasha. Those kinds of costumes gives you a sense of history in not only the anime but in the actual country as well. I was going to (and probably should have) put FullMetal Alchemist in this category but I went for Dragonball Z and Big O instead...

This thread is for Best Character Design and I've made some updates on the last year version, showing what the details of the Best Character Design category all about, who won, and who else was nominated for the award.
