Good songs for a Big-O music video

Master P 12-06-2003 01:59 AM
Just thinking what would be some good tunes for a Big-O music video.

Queen- "The Show Must Go On." This is so obvious. Listen to the song, it reminds me of the show. The way it repeats at the end is reminiscent of Big Venus' erasing and rewriting everything, over and over...

Fuel- "Shimmer". This would make a good Angel-centered video.

Just about anything by A Perfect Circle, especially "3 Libras". I should watch Big O while listening to their albums. That would be cool.

AC/DC- "Back In Black". Need I say more? Big Grin

Beck- Loser. That would be high-larious. Beck deserves his own video.

Dave Matthews Band- #41. Very dark, slow, somber, like the show itself.

Green Day - Basket Case. Schwarzwald! "It all keeps adding up, I think I'm cracking up..." Gotta have him running around Big Duo with his arms like an airplane.

Maybe some Snoop Dogg too. Those are my thoughts. Anyone else?

Roger and Dorothy - "I Want You" by Savage Garden, "Hallalujah" by Rufus Wainwright, "Save Me" by Queen, "Everybody Needs Somebody" by the BLues Brothers Band

The whole show - "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen, "Strange Days" by John Lennon, "Time Warp" from Rocky Horror Picture Show, "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road" by Sir Elton John, "California Dreamin'" by the Mamas and the Papas

Beck - "Grow Some Funk of Your Own" by Sir Elton John

Angel - "Killer Queen" by Queen, "Pretty in Pink" by the Psychedelic Furs

Dorothy - "The Diva Song" from the 5th Element, "Bitch" by Meredith Brooks, "To the Moon and Back" by Savage Garden

Roger - "Peter Gunn Theme"

Big O - "Monster" by the B-52's Big Grin , "We Will Rock You / We are the Champions" by Queen, "Ballroom Blitz" by Sweet, "Don't Fear the Reaper" by Blue Oyster Cult

* * *

I haven't even broken out my 80's suggestions ... I might overrun the 10,000 character limit.

Roger and Dorothy in episode 24:" Here without you" Three Doors Down.or "Officially Missing You" by Tamia
Angel: "The Voice Within" Christina Aguilera
Roger:" P.I.M.P" or "STUNT 101" and "Gigolo" By 50 cent,G-unit,and Nick Canon and R Kelly. (Intended as a joke music video.)lol
Roger and Angel: "So Into You"- Collabo between Tamia and Faboulous.or" Fallen" By Maya
Shwartzwald: "Behind Blue Eyes" by Limp Bizkit (nah well he doesn't have blue eyes but this is a song I posted in another forum for Seifer Almasy (FVIII) and he doesn't have blue eyes either. I just really love the lyrics. It sort of like you view me as a bad guy but you have no idea what it's like to be me.Screw it this is Seifer's song. I'll think of another one for Shwartzwald.
Dorothy: It's hard to think of a song to describe her, ummmm maybe Evanesance "Bring me to life." actually that might be good. They also have a nice piano drenched tune on their C.D. I'll ask me friend the name of it.

I plan on making a Big Duo one set to Metallica's "Fuel", but I don't have any video clips to make it out of...or any editors to use either.

"Angel is the Centerfold", that one could practically make itself. Big Grin

I'm partial to "A Christmas Video" myself, but they are all masterfully put together.

Music you say?? sounds right up my alley

Well here some of ideas for music for a Big O Music Vdieo

Schwarzwald - "Mein Herz Brent" ((Translated: "My Heart Burns)) by Rammstein, this song has Schwarzwald written all over it, and lyrics descirde him to a T, during the quite parts, have some shots of Schwarzwald typeing or from his Monologs, then when it kicks up,. show him in Big Duo, and from when he laid down the law with Alan

R.Dorothy - "Weapon" by The Matthew Good Band, This song has few lyrics but it lets the music make up for that, its wonderful song, as for shots show some of Dorothy when she was in Dorothy-1, Being chased by Archtype, and any other shots of here when shse was used or to help use and make a weapon, see the tie in?

and thats all i got, i think of some more later

Several songs by Cousteau fit the Big O very well, the ones that come to mind are "(Damn These) Hungry Times", "Heavy Weather", "No Medication", and "After the Fall"; they could fit in with the series in general. "Last Secret of the Sea" could be used to great effect in a video featuring the Big Fau. "Salome" would be great for a Roger/Angel peice and "Peculiarly You" fits with Dorothy. Finally anyone who wants to make a Schwarzwald video would be prudent to use "Talking to Myself" it connects with that character very nicely. All of these songs are on their 2002 album Sirena.

Savatage's "This Isn't What We Meant". The lyrics are PERFECT!

Aqua's "Cartoon Heroes"

Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" (All Glinda and Dorothy One shots!)

John Denver's "Saturday Night in Toledo, Ohio" - all city and street shots.

Guess Who's "No Sugar Tonight" (shots of Big Venus at the end bit, with the lyrics "It's a new Mother Nature takin' over ...")

Al Stewart's "Year of the Cat" (A Pero tribute)

For the unimaginative, Rick James' "Brick House" (numerous shots of Angel in her various outfits)

Steve Winwood's "Higher Love" (all Roger-and-Dorothy "moments")

"Bette Davis Eyes" (mostly close-up shots of Dorothy's eyes)

Cab Calloway's "Jumpin Jive" (all Roger-action and Roger-posing stuff)

Madonna's "Like a Prayer" (especially the various religious scenes)

Elton John's "Rocket Man" (all Big Duo/Schwartzwald scenes)

With creative editing, the "Star Wars Gangsta Rap"
- Alex Rosewater as the Emperor
- Alan Gabriel as Darth Vader
- Roger Smith as Luke Skywalker
- Schwartzwald (ghost version) as Obi-Wan Kenobi
- Norman Burg as Uncle Owen
- Dorothy Waynewright as Yoda
- Big Ear as Lando Calrissian

Well, here I go picking out songs for all the characters, and I totally forgot about the music video element. Oops. Embarrassed Sweatdrop I'll list them anyway, some of them still qualify.

for the series as a whole: Muse, "Time is Running Out". (Actually the first time I heard this song I thought of Big O. Is that wrong?)

Roger: Pearl Jam, "Alive"
Dorothy: Norah Jones, "Nightingale"
Angel: Pink, "Trouble"
Beck: (well, I had a Beck--the actual one--song picked out, but I don't know if I can say it here)
Alex Rosewater: Phantom Planet, "Big Brat"
Alan Gabriel: The White Stripes, "The Union Forever"
and because I'm a big sappy romantic sap, for Roger and Dorothy: Nelly Furtado, "Childhood Dreams"
Hobodoken 12-07-2003 05:34 PM
For Alex-The Beatles, "TAXMAN"
For Beck-Bicycle Thieves, "Loser of the Year"
For Roger and Dorothy-Tragic End, "Mosaic Eyes" OR ...I forget....,"Konstantine"
For Roger and Angel-The Beatles, "And Your Bird Can Sing"
Commander Amarao 12-08-2003 02:26 PM
Roger- Rich and the Famous (Good Charlotte)

Dorothy- Mr. Roboto (Styx)

Schwarzvald- Beautiful people (Marilyn Manson)

Beck- Smooth Criminal (Alien Ant Farm)

Alex Rosewater- Darth Vader theme (Star Wars)

Alan Gabriel- White Rabbit (Jefferson Airplane)
Ketchup 12-08-2003 02:33 PM
Beck- "Fight the Power" Heroes and Villains (Powerpuff Girls X__x)

I have one for Alan but I can't remember what the song is called.

Eh....that's all I can think of right now.

I've always wanted to throw this out there.

Roger and Dorothy: Dave Matthews Band~ The Stone Lyrics (some) "I've this creeping/Suspicion that things are not as they seem/ reassure me/why do I feel as if i'm in too deep...." and "I was just wondering if you'd come along/to hold up my head when my head won't hold on."

Angel: Dave Matthews Band~ This is the Last Stop. Lyrics that match her: "You comb your hair to hide/ your lying eyes..." Of course, now that songs makes even more sense considering her role.
